Kung ang pagbabasehan ko ung 4JJ1 TC, maganda talaga ang performance niya even if it looks low on paper, kaya how much more yan TCX. Ang sarap pa lalo sigurong i-drive yan. And mas mabagsik pa for sure ung talagang engine nitong Dmax na ito.
*defend2013: Kaya nga sir, parang ang gustong palabasin ng IPC, we don't deserve better or much better products. Ang ganda sana ng potential nitong Dmax na ito, kaso with that engine, mapapa isip ka talaga.

Kaya tiba-tiba ang Ford Ranger ngayon. Wala silang real competitors sa Next Gen Pick up.
Binabasa ko ung Ford Ranger thread sa kabila and based sa observations ng iba, mahina arangkada ng Ranger and at 120kph, grabe na ang wind noise tapos mabagal ng mag accelerate to higher speed. Hmm. That is what you get I think for small engines na naka turbo lang.
Kailangan umakyat ang RPM to within the turbo power band para may hatak. Parang ung Santa Fe ko lang din. Angkupag sa arangkada pero pag 50+kph na, swabe na ung arangkada.
I am not shutting my doors dito sa New DMAx. to think na 3.0 makina nito and not VGT so malamang, at slightly lower RPM, humahatak na 'to and does not even need a boost to achieve its power.

Absolutely walang lag or whatsover ang D-max 3.0 Ddi-iTEQ sir Nels.... In fact, yung bigat ng compression even at bottom end ng rpm damang-dama mo. Under-stressed ang D-max kahit pa sa akyatan at kargahan.... It's really a good engine and something that i will always choose compared to the 2.5-litre with VGTs in the market. This engine doesn't make the most or highest power but it makes the right power at any one-time....
Long-stroke diesel ang D-max natin at mahaba ang powerband. Wala akong complaints talaga sa D-max wastegate turbo dahil sa responsiveness at relative tipid nito sa diesel consumption.... However, it's not designed naman na pang-dulong rpm talaga (typical hauler na truck ika nga ang powerband)....
Also, we Pinoys certainly would not mind that we would even LOVE-TO-RAVE about it should finally we be offered with the updated 4JJ1-TCX VGS Turbo engine.... Tiyak wala talaga tayong complaints diyan as i've driven the older-version 4JJ1-TCX when i was in Spain working and here in Australia.... I'd say it's way better than the rest and it's really "under-stressed" might i impress upon you sir Nels ;)
