These are the ones that share the same platform with the Chevy Colorado, right?

The dashboard and other 'hard points' are also the same. But at least they managed to style it differently. More separation than say a Ford Ranger and Mazda BT50.

Checked this out in Trioma yesterday.
I really like how this machine looks inside and out.
I got disappointed its not equiped with VGS. Old 3.0 engine na nga, wala pa VGS.
In addition to that sabi ng ahente it will not arrive in Philippine shores kahit na we will have them assembled here 5 months from now.
parang mas gusto ko pa tuloy ang old skul but powerful 2.5 ng strada which is cheaper.

Based on my observation, thou Isuzu decided to retain using the 4JJ1-TC to power the new D-Max, the intercooler size was increased -- definitely would have a positive effect in its performance.

IMHO, it may be a "setback" to some who hoped for the VGS version of the 4JJ1 but I'd take this anytime of the day considering it's proven to be efficient and reliable.

I love Isuzu pero setback tong ginawa nila.

Ranger XLT MT is even chepaer than LS 4x2 MT by about 70k and yet the Ranger:

    - has more power
    - has more torque
    - 6 speed
    - Auto Wiper
    - Cruise Controil
    - May bedliner pa

The LS' edge is the Leather Seats and the 10-speaker system and a better plastic finish.
Tapos yong Rim pa ng LS, prone sa nakaw yong center cap. haayz.

Isuzu naman. Plano niyo din atang gawing Sportivo andg DMAx.

Timing Gear ang DMax. Yong Ranger di ko nasilip.

Somebody at Isuzu should be fed to the sharks for this dumb strategy... :shark:

Syempre mas malaki ang kita nila sa old engine pasalamat na lang tayo at hindi 4ja1 ang inilagay sa lowest variant nila

I suppose they thought it would be fine since the old engine would be "enough" to sufficiently move the truck. I wonder what the product planners are thinking, or if there are product planners at all. They don't seem to know how to make a product appeal to the market. Mitsubishi has certainly nailed this part well with the Strada and Montero. Even if they "only" have a 4D56 engine. The sales figures say everything.

It should be called "Old New Dmax" kasi pinag halo halo nila ang mga luma and bago.hehe

Ang nangyari, parang sinabi nila na wag ng ibigay ang bagong engine, isalpak nalang natin ung proven, let's not even try to offer something new. Then ung sa 2.5, idetune pa lalo. Ano ba yan. Ok ang old engine for the older model pero sana naman for this all new, all new din dapat ang engine considering the size of the truck is bigger.

Habang sa mga ibang brands, some are even luxury brands, wala naman problema sa mga diesel engines nila considering ang lalakas ng engines nila.

Malay mo pag nilangaw yong bago nilang DMAx eh ilabas nila ung 4JJ1 TCX. He he.

Or maglabas ng Boondock Edition na 2.5 Twin Turbo. Sana... sana...

Ang maganda lang dito sa makina ng DMAX na nakalagay sa New DMax eh subok na at doesnt need boost to achieve power.
or correct me if I am wrong.

Kung ang pagbabasehan ko ung 4JJ1 TC, maganda talaga ang performance niya even if it looks low on paper, kaya how much more yan TCX. Ang sarap pa lalo sigurong i-drive yan. And mas mabagsik pa for sure ung talagang engine nitong Dmax na ito.

*defend2013: Kaya nga sir, parang ang gustong palabasin ng IPC, we don't deserve better or much better products. Ang ganda sana ng potential nitong Dmax na ito, kaso with that engine, mapapa isip ka talaga.

Kaya tiba-tiba ang Ford Ranger ngayon. Wala silang real competitors sa Next Gen Pick up.

Binabasa ko ung Ford Ranger thread sa kabila and based sa observations ng iba, mahina arangkada ng Ranger and at 120kph, grabe na ang wind noise tapos mabagal ng mag accelerate to higher speed. Hmm. That is what you get I think for small engines na naka turbo lang.
Kailangan umakyat ang RPM to within the turbo power band para may hatak. Parang ung Santa Fe ko lang din. Angkupag sa arangkada pero pag 50+kph na, swabe na ung arangkada.

I am not shutting my doors dito sa New DMAx. to think na 3.0 makina nito and not VGT so malamang, at slightly lower RPM, humahatak na 'to and does not even need a boost to achieve its power.
