March 21st, 2016 03:58 PM #21In my case, I made sure to install leatherette seat covers asap on my hrv (when it was still 2 weeks old). If I had taken the totl, then it is full leather then I would just leave it alone.
Ung experience ko din kasi before sa luma kong civic, tuwing papagpagan ung fabric seats with fabric covers, grabe yung dust. Kahit siguro one hour (literally) mo pagpagan eh for sure may alikabok p din. I also installed leatherette seat on my civic (which I still own up to now) and after a couple of yrs eh ok p din. Parang bago p din lalo n after applying protectant, which i very seldom do, lalo ngaun because of the new hrv.
Un nmn cnasabi nung agent na wag n daw tanggalin ung free seat covers, if i were you, hindi ako papayag, unless n lng kung fabric din or something similar n makakapenetrate p din ung dust. Usually kasi, sukat n sukat ung seat covers to the point na medyo mahigpit p nga sya ang parang mas maganda ang magiging fit kung wala un. Besides, first time ko may narinig (or nalaman? Same thing i did sa free mats upon installing deep dish mats. Pero kung sa palagay mo eh magagamit or mabebenta mo eh why not? Keep it. Sakin lng eh mapupunasan nmn ung grasa sa leatherette seat covers eh. Mejo hassle lng. Pero same thing, hassle din if magkakabit at magtatanggal ako ng seat covers. Besides, i dont like the idea n magtago ng mga bagay na bihira o halos hindi nagagamit.

March 21st, 2016 04:04 PM #22The only reason I get leather upholstery/covers on my cars is the static shock when I get out. Without it I feel like a douche having to grab the roof while getting out of the car. I like the feel of fabric more. It stays cooler in the sun. Too bad I like not getting shocked more.

March 21st, 2016 04:22 PM #23One more thing pala (and this is just my own personal opinion). I'm not sure if same pa din ung quality ng material or if same pa din ung supplier ng ace hardware sa seat covers nila pero yung 1st car ko kasi eh dun ako bumili (nasa 5.5k) for a leatherette seat cover for a kia pride sedan. That was way back 2004.

i also do not use seatcovers since wala namang baby.
i also do not like the feeling and the looks of loose seat covers eh.

March 22nd, 2016 12:17 PM #27Kung alam ko lng na pwedeng i swap yun sa car cover, yun n lng sana kinuha ko.
I never thought about it. Anyway, the free seatcovers somehow made the seats a bit cleaner for 2 weeks while waiting for the new leatherette seat covers.

March 22nd, 2016 01:25 PM #28How i wish i can also convince my wife and daughter na wag kumain at uminum sa loob ng auto. For sure, sisimangutan ako ni wifey at mamaktulan ni baby daughter. Lol.
So aun, nabinyagan agad ng food and drinks even on the first few days, but it's ok, may vacuum nmn eh. Hahaha.
Regarding sa fit ng seat covers, I'm not sure. Usually, pag nagpapakabit ako ng leatherette seat covers eh sobrang fit sya at kadalasan nga eh nagtataka p ung kausap ko whenever sinasabi ko na seat cover lng un. Ska anlaking improvement compared sa original fabric seats. Sa itsura (eventhough mine is just a month old mid variant hrv and 2 weeks old p lng sya when seatcover was installed), convenience sa paglinis, comfort, etc.
Maybe depende sa gumagawa yung pagka fit, quality, and design. Pag ok talaga yung gagawa at magkakabit eh for sure na mas maganda pa sa original seats ang kakalabasan. But it's just my opinion.

August 21st, 2016 06:10 PM #29Sir, if I may ask, where did you purchase your leatherette seat cover for your HR-V? How much din po? Thanks.
In my case, I don't know shops in Cebu where I could get leather or leatherette seats so I just went to ACE Hardware... RL designs quoted me a price of 8,500 for heat repelling synthetic leather... Dunno if okay yung prince na they quoted...
