Hyundai i30 pala yun. Akala ko Elantra Coupe dahil sa harap.

Siguro kaya nagmukhang Tucson kasi brown? Hehe.

sir i own a 2 yr old Gen 2.5 Santa Fe and to share my humble opinion:

    A) the drive is excellent for me. 2.2 CRDi R-eVGT Engine with 197 HP and more than 400 in torque. That alone speaks for itself. My 2.0 Xtrail cant even catch up with a CRDI powered Captiva at NLEX. I've driven my friend's 3.0 Fortuner from Dagupan to Manila and it is sluggish! Not sure with the MS VGT Engine nor the new VNT Engine of the 2012 Fort. The Engine of the santa fe is what made me salivate to own it. Although i drive the busy and traffic EDSA daily, i do go out of town occasionally and its pure joy and adrenalin pumping driving the Santa Fe in the highways. The interior materials are far better than the Japanese counterparts. The interior design is also far more superior (sans the China made generic DVD touch screen GPS HU). the 2013 Santa Fe should be a vast improvement while the Japs counterpart remains the same (inferior). No offense meant to Jap cars owners.

    B) the ride is stiffer and bouncier than my 05 Xtrail but a lot softer than the Forts/MS. It would improve by installing a coil rite at the rear (though warranty will be void). Since it is not a frame on ladder body but built like a CUV, then expect it to be better than its competitors.

    C) reliability wise, it still has a long way to go versus the Japs. As with so many professional reviews of the santa fe, one weak link and needs further improvement is the suspension/under chassis part. Mine underwent a minor overhaul of the front suspension to eliminate some kalampag and preventive measure (tie rods/ends, stab links, bushings). My Xtrail is already 7 years old and have not encountered the need to replace any suspension parts except for the stab link bushing made of rubber. Though I had replaced its Alternator, MAF Sensor, and aircon compressor. My bro in law's gen 2 CRV is also 7 years old and have not had any major parts replaced yet. Just the usual scheduled PMS. With the Gen 3 santa fe, i hoped they already improved the suspension/under chassis parts.

    D) As majority of the Hyundai Owners who bought from HARI Dealers, After sales service SUCKS BIG TIME. NUFF SAID..
Lugi talaga 2L Xtrail sa kahit anong diesel engine. Nissan should release the 2L CVT Xtrail, it's more fuel efficient than the old 2L. The Sta Fe could be the best vehicle of Hyundai but you're correct that Hyundai cars are still far from Jap quality. Our Grand Starex rear window almost fell for no reason, it's still under warranty since we don't have a license plate yet. My cousin's GS's ABS broke down, it's also still under warranty but this makes me think that 5 years is probably the time you should sell a Hyundai vehicle.

To other 2nd gen Sta Fe owners, did you experience engine stalling due to dirty fuel filter? My cousin experienced it twice and it was towed twice as well.

Trucker, hmmm.. There seem to be a lot of variants from 2 to 2.2 diesel with trims from basic safety to all out gizmos on both fwd and awd. I suggest you check the grey market it will really spark your interest. There are variants without the panoramic sunroof as well. And those which has basic ICE to 8 inch touch screens

but for the current asking price of hancars, i'll go for the explorer...

i was not able to test drive the new SF but judging from the looks of it, explorer is way better. if the SF is around 1.8M with all of it's toys then it's a good buy.

i have taken some shots of the new SF, i'll post them soon...
