You can see new shipments being driven off the ship. Just ask Hyundai when the next ship will come and go to the pier where the ships will be docked.
The rusting fender thing was solved around 6 years ago. Bushings are made of rubber and are not that hard to replace but they last pretty long unless your family driver used to be with R&E or Wallis. Your choice of bushings: OEM Hyundai, OEM Mitsubishi or replacement.
The Starex is a licensed version of the Space Gear. It's just wearing different clothes now because under Hyundai it took an evolutionary path different than that of the Space Gear. But they're pretty much the same in the parts you can't readily see. Even the A/T units of the Starex come from Aisin. The Japanse company that supplies most major Japanese automakers (e.g. Toyota and Mitsubishi).Last edited by OTEP; November 28th, 2006 at 02:27 PM.

There's a poster here in tsikot (sorry forgot his handle), he owned a L300 Versa van and a '04 Starex. I think he has owned the L300 for more than ten years and he claimed that his '04 Starex had accrued more repairs in two years time compared to number of repairs in the ten years that he owned the L300.

Nagkaron na kami ng L300. Wala talagang masisira dun because there's nothing in it! Hehehe. It's just a shell with an engine.
But in my 10 years sa UST mga tatlong L300VV's ang bumigay ang front suspension. Sheared off the frame mounts! Yung gulong tumukod sa fender. I don't know kung bakit ganun. Halos lahat pareho ang mga scenario, doing slow speed maneuvers while parking then ka-blam. The vehicles were privately owned with student stickers (hindi fleet vehicles ng UST).

there's nothing to repair sa L300. bec. it runs and it sounds like a broken vehicle naman all the time hahaha.
sometimes nga, I want to get rid a fairly-running business of mine just to get rid of this vehicle eh hehehe.
sobra pa kung apihin ka sa kalsada if you drive this vehicle.
wish I can save enough money to replace this with the Starex negosyo van.

No repairs on an L300? Sobrang bait yata, ah...
I absolutely hate the L300. It's a great utility vehicle, yes, but as a passenger conveyance, I've dubbed it the "monoxide chamber". Fender rust and exhaust rust combine to pipe nice, noxious exhaust gases back into the cabin.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

its nice to hear that many people now are beginning to accept the fact that korean vehicles, Hyundai in particular, had finally catched up with the competition. Back in 2004, nung mag post ako about my newly bought tucson, daming mga remarks na "ang pangit pangit ng harapan". mahinang klase yan Hyundai? , etc, etc. After two and a half years, napapangiti na lang ako pag may nababasa akong thread tulad nito.
