Hyundai Santa Fe (Gen. 2) Thread

might be ordering a santa fe soon... latest would be next week. sold my car already so i need to make up my mind. tried reading this thread but it's already 2am and it's more than a hundred pages long. i just have a few questions:

1. What's the fuel consumption of a 4x2 diesel SF? a 4x4 diesel SF? city driving and highway driving.
2. have there been common SF problems/complaints here?
3. Where's the best place to buy one? what freebies/deals will they give?

May na-receive akong New Vehicle Satisfaction Survey from HARI.
May kasamang ticket for a free Oil Filter on the 1k and 5k PMS.

I can claim the freebies pag nagpa-PMS ako and I can submit the Survey to any dealer.

Ang ironic lang dito is tapos na ako magpa-1k PMS and the ticket is only valid 'til January 2008 which I don't think I'll be hitting 5k on the Odo reading by that time.

If you backread i posted my FC- best was 14+ and worst was 11+ combined city/hway


to be honest about this...i get around 7 pure city driving...when i drove it to baguio....i got 10 (4x2 diesel)

Engine too quiet/ride too comfy

if you read through the thread...one of the issues raised was the "kalampag"...although its not really a "kalampag" but rather...this is really the distinct sound of the sta fe's under chasis...still dont know why...

3. Where's the best place to buy one? what freebies/deals will they give?

Before i bought-i've been to many dealers to get the best deal,try this and schedule a test drive- 0915-569-3782

i bought mine in hyundai shaw...but am having it serviced at hyundai pasig...the reason is, i got the best deal there...but service wise, i think pasig has better service...

Advice ko lang if you will buy an aftermarket alarm to have also the following features (if your SF is a CRDI): remote start and turbo timer. I had it in my old starex and is very handy.

Sino at saan recommend mo alarm installer with this features, ano brand?

Wala talaga standard ang Hyundai CASA.

Our Hyudai Starex tci * Hyundai Makati - Cousin Starex tci * Hyundai Laguna

1st 1000 PMS

Makati
Change engine oil lang ginawa plus the usual checks. (5.5 liters of oil)

Laguna
Change engine oil (6.5 liters of oil)
Change transmission & deferential oil. (reasons: hindi daw bagay sa weather natin ang oil from Korea.)

Up to now pag change oil ako e 5.5 liters pa rin nilalagay ko, e sakto naman talaga sya. Up to 10,000 pms lang kasi ako sa Hyundai makati kasi mas malapit Laguna sa amin & sarado na MAKATi kaya Laguna na talaga ako pa-pms. Parati sinasabi sa akin ng SA na kulang daw dala ko na oil, dapat daw e 7 liters kasi 6.5 daw dapat.

Sa laguna pati e hindi galing sa sealed container ang gamit na oil kaya ako na nagdadala sarili ko oil unlike sa makati na sigurado ka na galing talaga sa sealed container ang oil nila kasi naka-container sya na 1liter. Sa Laguna kasi e nasa drum ang oil nila, hindi ka sure baka may mga dumi ang pantakal nila or ang naka-expose na hose from the container e may nakapasok na insekto o kung anung contaminants.

Ngayon lang pati ako may nabasa na CASA na nag-advice gumamit ng additives.

Bro, the two alarms that I mentioned, one with the shock sensor and the other one with remote start, ay padala lang sakin from the states. But I would think available ito locally. Ang alam ko meron remote start ang Code Alarm.

I believe you are asking for the chrome grill? Get it sa Goldrich sa Banawe. Mas mura sila kaysa casa. Goldcars also has it. I think sister companies sila.

what are the aftermarket services/accessories that you placed on your SF? Rustproofing, alarms, etc?

OEM stepboard from Yuichi. chrome grill from casa. Headlight chrome from Goldrich. JVC mobile enterrainment which I DIY. wireless backing camera also a DIY. headrest lcd monitor and roof carrier from Goldcars. Rustproofing, my SA said not to.

due to your very helpful topics nainggit na din ako at bumili na din kami na SF(super friends of santa fe) and im very proud owner 1k PMS ko bukas yun nga lang medyo na pa aga kasi ng makita ko pagdating sa gas station to fill up eh 24km na tinatakbo ko eh wala pang 2km ang layo ng gas station ask ko yung SA ko drive lang daw yun from plant to branch nila..sabi ko ok lang andun na yun then she promise na lang for discount...thank you po sa mga tips nyo ha

im very satisfied sa fuel consumption ko almost fuul tank from LPC to manaoag then back then go to san ildefonso bulacan then bac to LP then go to angono back to LP again may tira pa konti not bad for me heavy on the pedal drive pa kasi ka asar yung mga tricycle going to manaoag businahan mo deadma lang parang kanila ang daan but when it comes to overtaking di ako bitin kasi ang lakas ng hatak eh bale 9 kami..pls check nyo lang yung tuluan ng AC kasi maikli ..yung sakin inextend ko na lang baka kalawangin agad baby nyo
