Hindi naman super kelangan, kating kati lang makakuha na. Hirap labanan! haha
BTW, kung sa power or speed or kung anuman tawag jan (sorry noob ako sa mga sasakyan hehe), which is better in terms of the mentioned? EX 1.6 GLX M/T or etong Accent CRDI (say yung 1.6 M/T variant din)?
As far as our info sa dealership the accent CRDI will come out soon. Hopefully by the end of the year but we're still not sure. But we were already given the go signal to accept orders. the price quoted earlier seems about right but its better to wait for the actual announcement of the price. HARI likes to surprise everyone of the actual arrival of our new models As for the engine if it has a turbo im not yet sure but other sites say it has a turbo although i cannot confirm that.
During my test drive...
Handling is what you would find in the Accent sedan... not much different.
The power from the CRDi engine is kinda .... bitin. The engine pulls good initially then power quickly drops off.
As for the looks, I am not really sold on the styling. The hatch portion feels just "off" as compared to the rest of the car.

Sir GH, I posted several months ago where I asked a comparo between the FF TDCI MT and an Accent CRDI given a 700-800k budget. So, iba pa rin talaga ang "feel" at hatak ng Focus, given na 1.6 na yung sa Accent?
About the hatch portion.. I agree. Parang tinapyas yung likod nya at first glance kya it looks "off", hindi kasi halata yung contours. Maybe it looks good in person, though.
The Ford Focus TDCi in either MT or AT has much more "hatak" and goes all the way to the redline, which is satisfying to drive aggressively.
I was expecting a bit more from the Accent CDRi, Even mentally compensating for the smaller displacement, the power range simply feels too short. You'll end up having to shift much earlier.
Correct me guys if im wrong. I think this is because of the different turbos used. Ford uses a traditional turbo charger that needs to spool up while Accent uses a VGT which allows you to get a certain turbo boost even on low revs. VGT doest spool up thus the term variable geometry allowing boosting in low aspect ratios. You will thus feel a better boost on Ford on as revs get higher while Accent starts its turbo boost even on low revs kaya di masyado ramdam pag mataas n rev mo kasi nung mababa palang may boost na.
Tsaka 2.0 ang turbo diesel ng focus sir 1.6 lang ang sa accent. hyundai U2 Diesel Engines with a displacement of 2.0L w/ VGT is incomparable to the 1.6 VGT having a power difference of 40 HP (130+ for the Accent vs 177 for the 2.0 R-eVGT of the Tucson). Its like comparing David vs Goliath ehehehehehe. The better comparison to the Focus is the Elantra since they are on the same segments. Ang ka segment ng Accent is the Fiesta. Kung sa ford comparison mismo you would'nt compare a fiesta to a focus on terms on engine performance right?
Its not VGT sir. Its TDCI. Its a conventional turbo diesel. baka nalito ka dun sa bago sir. yung VCT. Variable Cam Timing yun hindi turbo. The newer version of Focus yung 2013 wala pang diesel variant puro gas. Wait and see pa kung may diesel na lalabas yun. But anyway like i said earlier we really cannot compare the 2 cars since they are on different segments. the focus is around 1.1M while the accent will be around 700-800 depending on transmission. See the difference?
By our own Sir Niky

There’s a good reason for the Focus’s tagline “Surprisingly Fast”. It’s because it is. The gasoline engine’s performance can best be described as merely adequate, but the TDCi’s variable geometry turbo allows it to spool up fast and punch hard. There’s a bit of electronic throttle lag when you press down on the accelerator pedal, but once it goes, it goes. In traffic, the TDCi has enough grunt to leave its gasoline-fed competitors behind in a huff of diesel fumes.
