Hyundai ACCENT Hatch CRDI 1.6

Balak ko po mag upgrade from Altis 2004 within the next few months, any thoughts po regarding the Hyundai Hatch 1.6 CRDi GL 7A/T-DCT (Dsl)?

May mga common issues that I should be aware of po ba yung specific model or si hatch in general?

Nagbabackread po ako ngayon for more information, pero naisipan ko na lang din mag post. First time kasi namin mag Hyundai buong family and yung family mechanic namin hindi masyadong familiar sa mga sasakyan nila.

How big a family are you? One drawback with the Accent is the size. It is small. Another is the PMS requirement of the casa. Every 3 months pms seems to be too often. As far as the performance goes, wala akong masasabi. Yung 2014 hatch ko 170k kms na, no major issues. Suspension is still great with the stock shocks. May slight creaking na when I go over humps, but aside from that, very acceptable NVH.

Sa pagkakatanda ko eh change oil if full synthetic every 10000kms, I verify ko lang sana sa iba, kung ano ang good practice nila

First check which oil is required. Intervals follow after that.

Diesel, i am currently using full synthetic, every 5000km is my PMS, and i am thinking/planning of changing it only an interval of 10000km, and not with on my every PMS (5000kms, which my service advisor is suggesting) which is as far as I remember change oil is an interval of 10000km in the manual.That is why i am inquiring it if i can go with the manual advice, and for the safe/best practices of the other member

in the owners manual, there are two conditions: severe condition and normal condition.

in our country, it automatically presets to extreme conditions, traffic is crazy in the morning and evening.

normally(outside metro manila) if you travel 1hr you could do 20-120kilometers, here in metro manila(rushhour): you could do 1-10KM

if you do the math. 7500km(extreme case) basically means several hundred hours with the engine on(375hrs if you do 20kph) and this is with the recommended oil. since its an Asian diesel car it probably requires API C-class - (c-compression)

Can you explain in layman’s term in your comment “required API C-class (c compression)”? If you were on my shoe, what do you recommend to change oil? Can i do it on 10000km? I am in the metro manila, qc to be exact

Change air filter, then fuel filter. Pag ganon parin clean the egr.

After you posted this, it got me thinking of my hatch. Lately, I noticed a loss of power & a wooshing sound when the accel pedal is pressed hard. Also noticed a lot of smoke. Happened for the past week or so. It runs well except when I have to depress the pedal hard or when I cruise at more than 120 kph. Been thinking of getting it checked & get egr cleaned since it seems like it lost it’s mojo. The other day, the CEL lit up so I brought it to the casa. They diagnosed a leaking intercooler hose. I got that changed & had the engine decarbonized as well. It now runs like new again. The car is logging 184k kms already in the 6 years I’ve owned it.
