    we acquired our starex just this march and were very happy with it. im just wondering if there are any engine mods that any of you guys have done that can add to the HP of the TCi engine??? just to add a little more oomph? im wondering if there are these options for the TCi engine of the starex and who has them;

    1. after market air filter
    2. aftermarket headers and mufflers

    anything else you guys can suggest to add power to the engine?

    No headers for a turbo engine... you can alter the downpipe and the muffler... but it'll sound weird...

    The best bet would be a modified intercoolr and an alcohol injection kit... which is proven to work with non-CRDi turbo Starexes.

    A bigger intercooler would help or remount the stock intercooler for better airflow.

    Alcohol injection kit would also add power.

    if your starex is EFI TCI then you can tune it to produce more power.. unfortunately if you still have the older mechanical injection pump TCi then theres not much you can do. you can do the washer mod on the turbo i think.. is the least you can do..

    Testing results on a Hyundai Grand Starex 2.5 CRDi VGT 5AT

    This box is for CRDis, but the maker has a different product that should work on other types of electronic injection diesels... the price is very good, actually... around 25k for this redbox, and a bit lower for the other products. That's less than half what some other European chips cost, and this is proven to work and easy to DIY at home.
