2011 Hyundai Accent issues, problems in general

Hindi naman lahat ng Accent may defect, the problem here is that some people tend to generalize all of the fleet. I bought my 1.4 MT Accent last September of last year. The only problem was dragging and some sort of transmission noise due to gear oil viscosity. Generally speaking Im very happy with it, averaging 10 to 12 km/liter city driving and about 18 to 20 km/liter on the highway, ODO is around 5,800km. It's really an injustice to us happy Accent owners if people here kept on humiliating our cars, special mention to a certain a.k.a CVT who always kept on ridiculing us.

I suggest that this "CVT" guy to personally see me and to test drive my unit personally just for him to keep his big mouth to shut up, apparently his big mouth is very much being heard in this forum. My appeal to him is not to generalize every Accent he see's on the road. I have complaints on the service quality and attitude of some service people but thinking otherwise, this problem is not limited to me and to me alone, others may also have the same experience as with other brand of car.

And for all Accent owners who are having problems here is my word, don't loose your cool gawa lang ng tao yan ang kaya magawan ng paraan din...

Mr. CVT... making our hard earned cars being ridiculed by you is unacceptable, be that as it may, we the Accent owners demand for a public apology from you and for you to ceased and desist irresponsible comments because you don't know the people driving behind the Accent wheel and that is the very people you are making fun of.

Mr. CVT... know these, you just don't know the people your dealing with and ridiculing around.

Well, I just hope you guys have more faith on the manufacturer. Baka naman kasi natural weakness ng Accent na ito? I don't mean to say it's really really horrible. But looking at Honda's CVT, the reliability of their transmission can be haunting.

Having owned a very simple car with just a power-steering as a comfort feature. My sense of enjoyment in it can only be found when it doesn't poke you with its irritating niggles. I can live with an AE100 Corolla, and it's purely silent of complaints = I'm Happy.

With all these problems found in the Accent. It's always a hassle visiting CASA from time to time who tries to rip off with miscellaneous fees such as rag, car wash, etc.

Just drive your cars, if goes pass 300,000 km mark without niggles. Then I think it's a decisive moment that you are surely sold of that Hyundai reliability.

well, ako ang faint knock lang is paakyat lang sa parking building. yun lang. kasi nga, alalay lang at baka may biglang sumalubong sa paliko. anyway, no issues so far (knock on wood :D) 8/10 approval rating. central lock lang issue at alignment lang ang katapat. oo nga pala, di ko pa pinapa update yung ECU.

bakit sir, may problem ba kung walang problema yung units namin? parang kasalanan pa namin na hindi kinakatok kotse namin ah? its up to the buyer naman kasi kung susugal siya o hindi sa accent eh. nataon na sumugal ako at wala pa naman ako naexperience na problem, though i admit na its still too early to tell pa naman. ang point lang naman namin, huwag igeneralize yung accent na parang imposibleng walang unit na hindi kakatok.

yung comments namin sigurado makakatulong sa prospect buyer kung balak niya bumili ng accent, yung comment mo sir walang patutunguhan. hays..

Tanong ko lang. Ano ba yung dating ECU ng knocking units ng accent at ano yung ipinalit nila to solve the problem? di ko mahagilap yung post about sa pag papalit ng ECU.

ano ba yung dating ECU nung mga batches na nagkaroon ng engine knock? tapos nakalimutan ko may forumer tayo dito na napalitan lang daw ng kung anong EURO yun nawala daw.

alam ko Euro 2 palang. Yung first version ng update nila causes low power, so sila yung talagang nagkaproblema. Then Euro 2 came, I think Feb 2012 and this solved the low power (for those updated with 1st version) and improved the engine knock sometimes eliminating it completely using the right fuel (in my case Shell).

My 1.4 AT has been upgraded for 1.5 months now and everything's smooth . My mileage also improved, running at 12km/ltr (cavite-daanghari-alabang route).

I'm not sure if this Euro2 applies to manual units though.

Thank you for the quick feedback, maxhedrum. Actually yun din ang concern ko about the ECU, if this issue of knocking and the said solution of replacing the ECU would be applicable in 1.4 MT Accents.

Aggravated by the information (about the EURO 4 ECU) given by the sales rep that I talked to, I am now having second thought of getting one.

Which goes to shows na karamihan ng sales agent dito puro mga bopols. Euro4? Wtf!! Makabenta lang mag iimbento pa. At this rate baka mauna pa sila sa iphone 5 hahahaha.

stock ecu firmware- confirmed majority may engine knock

Euro version 1-addresses knocking issue but causes very low power.

Euro2- in between stock programming and version 1. May sometimes cause slight knocking on poor grade fuel. Power is a little but less than standard program but knocks less or none at all.

Euro 3-tsismis palang

Euro4- ginagago ka na ng sales rep mo.

It's nice to hear that may solusyon din yung problem natin sa accent ( Hindi naman matatawag yung na problema kung walang sulosyon ). When i scouted for the accent latetely nag mahal ata yung 2012 model nito by 50K compared to 2011 model. The 1.4 GL is now 708K compared to 658K nang 2011 model.

They look the same ( specs and all ). Ano ba yung pag kakaiba nila (2012 model vs 2011 model )?
