Wow... some people must have had reached their wits end when it comes to the issues that they have been encountering. I've read through the thread and realized that aside from the common issues (knocking, suspension, power), some have stalled, etc. Quite frankly, I think those who were adversely affected and inconvenienced, have all the right to complain. But then again, human emotion is subjective and when emotions mix with opinions, they become subjective too.
I'm no fan of Hyundai. It's my first time to own one - and in the less than one month that I've had my brand new car I have experienced what most of you have experienced.
My engine occasionally knocks, my right front suspension seems a little more sensitive than the left, my fuel consumption can't seem to go past 8km/L in the city and I don't think the engine is putting out as much power as it can.
But hey, I love the styling. I love the plush ride. I love the way the cabin acoustics enhance my audio system. I love the way the lights don't flicker when the electrical load is high. I love the stock exhaust note. I love a lot of other things about the car.
We don't have to live with it's defects, but we definitely have to deal with it. I just hope that when I bring the car to the dealer for it's 1K PMS, they pay attention and resolve the issues that I will raise.
There's really no point in making noise in these forums to pursue other people not to patronize a certain brand or product. While it is true that sharing this information will help others make sound decisions on a purchase, you really can't dissuade someone whose mind is set on something. If they really want a Hyundai, they will get a Hyundai.
