i've read both the elantra and accent threads...i like the specs of the TOTL elantra, but i'm also drooling over the looks of the elantra. but i've read some comments of people who still prefer the accent over the elantra...what are the factors for this?

Wala pa naman yung TOTL Elantra.. Accent Blue has better features than the Elantra GLS that's why some people prefer the Accent.

Laban Lang ng Elantra yung engine at size. Not space kasi hindi naman all naluluwagan sa interior ng Elantra.

Blue technology makes the Accent Blue fuel efficient.

is the difference in specifications and features between the Accent 1.4 a/t and the 1.6 a/t considered a big jump? is the .4 a/t enough or does the 1.6 a/t justify itself to be more worth the value?

I think both cars are priced right, very competitive in reference to their counterparts.
The value for this may depend on their owners usage.

    Both are good buys IMO...

just took a look at the display unit of Hyundai Pasig for the Accent, it was a 1.4 m/t. was hoping to view an actual 1.6 a/t. anyway, it's good that the accent has enough headroom. when i sat on the driver's seat, space was ok. I'm 6"0'. when I adjusted the seat height, there was more headroom. my only concern was when i had the driver's seat pushed farthest, I sat on the rear seat and my knees were touching the driver's seat already. good thing is that i don't have to push the driver's seat the farthest to have enough driving space. but i find the 1.4 too bare. im hoping that the 1.6 a/t has more to offer exterior and interior. really want it to at least satisfy me. if it won't then i guess i'll have to look at other brands... but am seriously considering the 1.6 a/t...

    inputs?

Congrats Sir, You can also add your name on the Accent 2011 roster list on another thread.

Sa proper break-in naman, as advised by tsikoteers here, do not race up the engine, meaning minimize sudden acceleration and also sudden braking. It is ok to speed up but do not exceed 4000RPM.

You can also try backreading this thread since this topic has been discussed before.

Brad renzo, napaguusapan nadin ang stance, any advise sa tire size na babagay sa 2011 Accent?

Nagbabalak kasi ako na magpalit, gusto ko yung maporma pero yung conducive sa daily drives.
Ok ba kung 16'' lang or might as well 17'' na.

    TIA

Depends on your route. Masyado ba maraming humps diyan ? Masyado bang mataas garahe mo ? Coz 16's + drop ( yes a drop is needed to loose that fender gap ) would mean a lower ride while 17's + drop would mean a ride that's decent enough ( not too high not too low )

I-slice up ko yung mga categories ...

Handling - the 17's would have an advantage coz the bigger the rims you get usually the bigger the diameter of the tires would be. Drawback lang is it can affect your efficiency kasi wider diameter = more friction sa road = more drag. But it would be very minimal lang.

    Fuel Efficiency - *check handling*

Price - Of course mas bigger mas mahal. The rims should be the least of your problem, dapat yung tires ang problemahin mo. Ako sa 15" rims ko & tires it costed me 32k because I didn't opt for cheap tires which most others would do. Sabi ko nga eh, GANDA NGA NG RIMS MO CHINA NAMAN TIRES MO. :hysterical: & that's NOT practical & safe coz China tires tend to slip sometimes and have a horrible grip during wet pavements

Safety ng rims - 16's because more rubber is covering your rims hence mas hindi siya prone sa bengkong

Comfort - 16's, halata naman eh pag 17's mas manipis ...

    Looks wise, SUBJECTIVE.

Pero for me, i'd still go with the 16's coz there will be more rubber surrounding your tires hence much safer sa bengkong kasi kung makikita mo yung white accent na naka 17's medyo alanganin na yung rubber niya. Manipis na. Mga 45 series siguro yun, or 40. Kaya yun 16's ako.

Pero kung medyo malapad sana ang Accent, 17's ako kasi mas maganda. Like yung sa mga altis & FD, 17's would look off, 18's ang maganda.

Nice... salamat brads, I might as well look for 16''s na, actually dun na ko sa safer side.
Sa suspension warranty naman, no need to warn me guys alam ko na sasabihin niyo...
