The base model GC is practically the lightweight Spec-R model. Just add the Brembo brakes, better wheels/tires and you'll have it.

The base model GC doesn't have power seats and sunroof (i think).

if ever i would have it upgraded to 500hp the engine wont last a month with my driving habit on hand, other than that its slightly above its safety level.
the service will take 10 days and am scheduled next week for tuning, will keep all updated!

Im planning to buy one guys, which one do you think is better the 2.0t or 3.8V6. i saw on the internet that there are lots of upgrade kits on the 2.0 and very few on the 3.8v6 but you can't pass the amenities of the v6 lalu na yung track package with brembo

if you don't mind the one second difference in going 0-60mph, go for the 2.0T, otherwise go for the 3.8 V6. It pretty much boils down on whether you opt to be fast or faster.

    advantages of 2.0T:
    1. lots of available upgrade kits
    2. better mileage
    3. light bodyweight

    advantages of 3.8 V6:
    1. 1 sec - 1.5 seconds faster
    2. better rev sound
    3. doesn't need much tuning

by the way i just found out from speedlab that if your engine is turbocharged, the cold air intake system applied will add negligible horsepower. Most of the upgrades im going to get are bolt on. The unichip upgrades disadvantage is that your car will have lower mileage for roughly 20-25hp.

Anyone who had a unichip installed in their car who can share their experience on how their car performed in the long run after they had the unichip installed?

The only upgrade that will really make a difference is the turbo kit and the 3" full exhaust which will add roughly 50-60 horsepower!

    Will keep you guys updated!

kind of OT pero pagpasensyahan nyo na mga mods. with regards to the unichip i had one before sa civic FD 2.0. i would have to say it is worth every centavo that speedlab charges to tune and install it. With headers and drop-in K&N filter the car gained in the vicinity of 18-20hp from stock but more than that it was the torque gain that i was most pleased about. 50 newton-metre more and most of it gained at around 2000-2500rpm. My car being automatic, was vastly improved especially at pick-up, midrange and driveability at part-throttle operation.

on fuel usage if you drive normally esp. with a light foot fuel economy does not suffer in fact it improves somewhat. I measured this roughly with every full tank i made. There is a noticeable improvement albeit slight only. The flip side is when you dig into that power and torque curve and drive like a scalded cat understandably fuel economy suffers more than stock.

on forced induction cars like the 2.0 genesis it would wise to presume the changes would be more pronounced on both aspects of performance and mileage.

oh! another good thing about the unichip is after i sold my car i took it out and installed it on our crv. hehe

to add pala. I had my car tuned before with Blaze wala pang e10 noon kaso when E10 was introduced i was on XCS the car would stall sometimes at idle but it was solved with a retune of the unichip on XCS e10. after that the stalling never happened again.

IMO, if you buy a 2.0 with the purpose of upgrade to some 300 hp, you will be spending another quarter million pesos. The difference between the autos 2.0 and 3.8 is a little above 100T and you already get that 300hp without overloading the engine. In fact 3.8 manual is even a better deal. With the 3.8 you will have another opportunity for 350+hp ceiling which no 2.0 can come near without blowing a gasket.:meeting:

Congrats in advance! Merry Christmas to everybody.

^^Yeah, same here. I'd rather get the 3.8 V6, preferably M/T, for those reasons.

It will take a small fortune (cost of upgrades relative to cost of car) for the 2.0T to reach/exceed the same performance the 3.8 gets off the bat, and even though there are much fewer options for upgrading it right now, the V6 still has a lot of potential.

And best value for money, other than the R-Spec, is the Track model being sold here for 1.990M, unless you were set on getting a manual because that's only offered in matic. It comes with Brembo brakes and track tuned suspension (for better or worse) for about 140k more than the Grand touring top trim A/T V6. Those upgrades would definitely run you more than that if you were to import/install third party, plus it's covered under the 5 year warranty.

go for the one with lambda 3.8v6 with brembo, like what uv said, sayang naman nga ung mga ameneties nung nasa top of the line variant like the smart key, infiniti sound system, sunroof, spoiler, brembo kit, leather interior, paddle shift etc...

drawbacks would be much more pricier than the 2.0 turbo, mas makonsumo din sa gas in everyday city driving, pero balewala naman sa iyo ang konsumo nyan, pang everyday use mo nga dati BMW 750i tapos pang colorcoding mo benz na s500... parehas v8, hehehe...

i saw one available right now its silver color 3.8v6 but no track package. they told me that i have to add 130k for the brembo. grrrrrr. nangigil nako mga sirs and maam. my father also advised me to get the car because for him if your gonna spend that much money i dont see the reason for you to wait kung may available naman. "tirahin mo na yan anak baka matira pa ng iba" ang tatay kong konsintedor. FYI my father hates hyundai before but when i convinced him to buy the new tucson he was simply amazed by its build quality and performance

sir snapshot kelan ba dating nung sayo? sana we can meet in the future with other gencoupe owners.
