    Hi Guys,

It's flood season again, and no surprise, over a month have gone thru 2 nights of flooding in Makati -- 1 with the Prado and 1 with the GS. For the Prado, it was about knee deep, but for the GS, it was only above the gutter, so a bit mid calf/shin.

Out of curiosity, how deep have you taken your GS? It's not an SUV and is probably not a primary choice for incidental flood-fording, but it's got some height over your average sedan, so there's got to be some advantages there.

IIRC, our GS's intake is about the height of the top of the grille and the air filter box about the height of the headlight but toward the side of the engine bay. So knee deep would be doable? Just not comfortable with the lower doors being submerged until knee height, but I would think the door seals could keep the water out, assuming you're in forward motion albeit slowly. CMIIW.

Deepest I've done is shin height which is a couple of inches below the knee. It was scary as it was a flash flood and the Starex was almost brand new back then so I wasn't sure where the air filter and intake was.

Deepest that we've gone through was about the level of the fog lamps,- but only for 3-5 meters distance, underneath the flyover in Coastal Road, just before noontime, as I turn towards Zapote-Alabang Road going towards the direction of Alabang.

It was the second day of our GS then,- the day Metro Manila was lashed by Typhoon Ondoy...

So sorry, forgot about an incident toward the 4th quarter of last year. Nailusong ko yung GS sa Buendia. Wife was following closely with the Prado. Knee deep. Sabi ni Mamang Pulis, kaya! Kaya naman, but just a bit nerve wracking coz at the first dip, there was Mr. X5 stalled in the middle of the road, and toward the first place you could turn, so did a Fortuner and Urvan. An Innova was a few meters ahead of me. Made it out ok naman.

Akin naman inabot hanggang sa foglights at the height of Ondoy, trapped kasi dito sa parking sa office, wala naman nasira except for the wiper washer motor which was replaced by Pitstop under warranty, I forgot kung nasira yun dahil sa baha o talagang defective pero Pitstop replaced it no questions asked.

Buti pa si Pitstop. Katakot-takot na hugas kamay ang gagawin ng HARI for that.
