Hi Sirs, I tend to agree with Imperialv that the Grand Starex should be considered as Gen 2 only or Gen 3 if you consider the Mestizo in 2004.

1997-2006 (Same Body):

1997 - The very first Starex with 2.7 engine, normally aspirated, makupad but body beautiful at that time. SVX and CLUB models.
1998 - Hyundai introduced the Turbo engine 2.5 engine, 85HP medyo OK na and hatak, same body.
1999 - This is the real turning point for the Starex, when they introduced the 2.5 TCI at 103HP, mas mabilis, malakas. Hit sa market! Same body.
2000 - Hyundai put on a new grille, same TCI engine, downgraded the seat fabric from velour to half-sack. Same body.
2001 - They introduced the BWS (Back Warning Sensor), same TCI engine, sold very well due to BWS. Same body.
2002 - They introduced the first CRDI engine in Asia, the entire system was designed by Bosch, 2.5 engine 145 HP, sobrang lakas at bilis for small disc and drum brakes kaya madalas mabunggo. same body.
2003 - Was not a very good year for the Starex, people were confused between the TCI and the CRDI and the body was already 6 years old na same body pa rin, around September 2003, nawalan ng stock sa Korea as in zero. Same body.
2004 - December 2003 , they introduced the GRX and GOLD with with new front and rear end, new trim, the TCI at 105HP and the CRDI at 145 HP sported new bigger all-Disc brakes. People went crazy again, excellent year for Starex. We minimized selling TCI in 2003, and in 2004 we stopped selling TCI altogether and promoted the CRDI engine. Some Changes in body.
2005 - The GRX and GOLD was still briskly selling. The Korean Won went crazy and hit the ceiling... prices went up.
2006 - The sales went down due to the high price of Starex, brought about by the strong Korean Won.

2007-2013...(New Body)

2007 - Hyundai introduced the first German-designed Korean vehicle - The Grand Starex comes with the All-New Viano look alike Body, elegant in every way, Teutonic suspension, longer, bigger, body beautiful! 174 HP shames most 6 cyl cars with the first VGT turbo in Asia. A hit around the world. Euro 4 engine.
2012 - They introduced a new improved engine, a Euro-5 engine with 12% more torques, 175 HP, changed to electric fan, introduced the DPF to self clean the exhaust system, shifted from Bosch to Delphi and made driving so much more enjoyable! I love Hyundai!

2013 - Hancars introduced the only New Look Grand Starex in the Philippines. same fun, but more classy and more elegant.

And that's the history of the most Beloved Family Van, now Family Sports Van in the Philippines - The Hyundai Starex.

Yung TCI is hindi pa CRDI, right? So mas matulin pa yung 3rd gen na Starex pala.

Now, the GS is about 500Kg heavier than the Gen3.

Tanong lang, wala bang problema kahit naka 11k KMS na ako? haha
di pa ako ngppa 10K PMS, wala kasing time at naghahakot palipat ng bagong bahay.

Ipa-PMS mo na lang bro. Should be no issue.

Whew! 180KPH?.... L!ntek,- sa Autobanh lang ako naka-experience ng ganyan + more....Tumatakbo kami ng 220KPH+,- may nagflash pa sa likod para mag-overtake...

At one time, sa motorsiklo pa... Grabe ang kapit/yakap ko sa driver,- pareho pa kaming nakainom (at linsyak,- lalaki pa....) Hindi ko mismo nakita ang speed, pero sabi ng driver about 180KPH daw!!! Lahat ng santo natawag ko na....

The last time I was anywhere that fast was with a Gen 3 GS at 170 kph on NLEX after the big toll plaza southbound. D*mn LC200! Antulin amp0tah!

^ganda pa ng acceleration nung lc200 kasi kahit 180kph na kami pareho nung nag-overtake na sa akin e sobrang effortless and few seconds lang layo na nya agad. 615 N/m vs 400 N/m, no match.

Lc200 ba naman. I would be disappointed if it was not driven like that, or kung nakadikit tayo. Though nothing to scoff at ang GS.

Madalas sinsadya ko yung pinakamalapit na Seaoil kung hindi gipit sa oras, pero pagnagmamadali Shell Vpower Diesel, yun kasi ang convenient sa akin.

Gusto ko din sana i-try yung Unioil, kaya lang sobrang out of the way na sa kin.

unioil most of the time. pag walang unioil station caltex with techron. sa petron at shell mababa ang fc ko.

Ako, Shell Diesel, most of the time,- nasa labas lang kasi ng village na tinitirhan namin.... (Malayong dayuhin ang Caltex at Petron)...

Just tried Unioil last weekend... Monitor mode pa...
