di pa naman ako na-cited for speeding sa nlex or sctex, although lagi ako harurot dun. just last june 20 nag-170kph ako sa sctex coming from subic (using my sta fe) and i was at it for at least 10 minutes, slowed down only after i passed a sctex patrol (pero busy sya attending to a stopped vehicle on the side) hehe.

Lucky you then. I'm a bit hesitant to gun it as the lead or lone car along NLEx or SCTEx. When I was with my dad (I was using the Prado), we were playing in the 170-180 kph range headed toward Tarlac but were not pulled over. I was confident he knew where the cops were. But on my Bataan trip last April, I just stuck to the 100-120 kph range. Plus the Sedona and gas Fortuner I was leading seemed to have lacked the oomph to catch up when I'd floor it just a bit north of 120.

Then again, baka pati yung akin, di lang masyadong sensitive ang aking pandinig. Hehehe!

Anyhow, yes there should be some noise. It's a diesel engine after all. Although IMO, insulation is pretty good on the GS. I've heard more engine noise in a Montero Sport and a Strada.

As to the aircon, usually that's a case of some water/liquid na natuyo sa loob ng cabin. It's the rainy season, so it could be from a an umbrella, o partially wet rag, gym clothes. Air it out and/or do some runs with the a/c on fresh air mode.

Bro.,- here's a solution to your issue.

Turn off your compressor about 3 minutes before you turn off your blower.

Should resolve the smell issue on initial A/C on....

I have not done this with our GS, but this should work to clear the vents/pan of any condensation.

And yes, charcoal is a wonder...

Bro.,- I was thinking of taking the Magilas trail, pero decided not to on our way to Manaoag....

Nice to hear about the progress of SCTEX... Sana on schedule or ahead of schedule sila, para Baguio is just in the neighborhood....

Lemme try that. I've never run the blower without the compressor. What I commonly do is go free air.

Nakakatuwa nga ang NLEx/SCTEx. Sure it's not silky smooth as you want it to be, but it's smooth enough to have an enjoyable drive.

Parang napahiya yung police kaya in the end di na pinabayaran yung police report. Ano ba patakaran dito?

yung 1st, papunta kami ng manaoag on our 4-monthly mass there (la lang, nakagawian na namin). i was stopped at the nlex toll gate at dau waiting for my turn at the toll plaza when suddenly "BRRRAAAGG!" buti hindi inabot yung vehicle sa harap ko which fortunately at that instant moved ahead. the GS must have moved forward 1-1/2 meters from the skid marks of my tyres. so i checked on everyone muna and knowing all were ok i got out of the GS. there was a revo behind me, the driver said he lost his brakes. "sana naman pare hindi ako pinunterya mo, pwede naman yung barrier eh." kinamutan ako ng ulo. ano pa nga ba ginagawa ng nakakabangga kundi magkamot ng ulo. bagito yung driver, di daw nya alam gagawin nya pag nawalan ng preno. so tinuruan ko pa, shift to low and engine brake, and then shut the engine off in gear. ok daw, next time alam na nya. well on inspection the top rubber cover part of the bumper (bumper step plate yata tawag dun) was torn. the bumper itself was not damaged, just a little almost unnoticeable paint chip at the 2 portions where his bull bars hit. as for the revo, pasok ang bull bar sa front grill, damaging his radiator a little. bagsak din ang front bumper nya, basag ang right head lights. with the nlex police report in hand we proceeded to manaoag. the next day i had the damage estimated at hyundai balintawak (13.4k) and hyundai north edsa (6.5k). di ko sana dadalhin sa north edsa pero naawa ako at matino naman kausap kaya sabi ko canvas muna kami. so there you go folks, repairs are 50% cheaper at hyundai north edsa compared to hyundai balintawak! the bumper step plate cost P1650, the rest is labor.

di pa dumadating yung parts na inorder, fathers' day na. so after hearing mass we went to trinoma, whole family including my mom and brother. papasok sa trinoma mall parking 2 (coming from mindanao), as you know 2 lanes yun. one coming from edsa making a left turn, and one from mindanao/north avenue junction. dun ako nakapila sa mindanao avenue, so i was at the rightmost lane. maayos ang pila until i got to the turn. as i turned this black vios tried to make a 3rd row, in between my line and the line coming from edsa. syempre di siya pinagbigyan. stop kami lahat, my foot on the brake. vios was on my left, halos pantay ang windows namin. as the car in front of me advanced i naturally let go of the brake. this a$$hole vios driver suddenly gunned for it tyres screeching, inserting his car in front of me. but since wala nga space a di bangga, ano pa ba. tinamaan ng front bumper ko yung right front fender and front passenger door nya. aba, ang ogags, kasalanan ko daw bakit daw ako umabante. sabi ko pare 2 lang ang pila, ginawamong 3, sino nasa right of way sa atin. sagot ba naman e "nauna bumper ko sa iyo, ako nasa harap bayad ka sa akin!" hahahahaha! dati sigurong jeepney driver ang kumag na ito. kahit ano explain ko ng right of way ang nakapila at nasa lane e di daw tama at nauuna ang bumper nya. ay bobo talaga, i let it go. there are some things you can not change and this man's lack of IQ is one of them. wala nga pala siya insurance, sagutin daw ng insurance ko. weeeeh! police report: "car v2 suddenly sneaked into the path of car v1 resulting in car v1 colliding with right front fender and passenger door of car v2". tawa lang ang police sa kanyang "jeepney driver tright of way" sabay sabi sa akin, "huwag ka magbayad sir kahit sinko." sinisingil ako, sabi ko kay vios driver "antayin ko summons. pag tinoyo ako baka ikaw pa pagbayarin ko". well i was thinking, walang sira GS ko, scratched paint lang sa bumper (tibay talaga!) while his car would need pukpok and painting of 2 panels, hehehe. damage sa akin will be P500 paint mixed at my suki and P500 labor sa banawe boys. after 5 days eto na, tawag ng tawag at text ng text sa akin ang repair shop nya. i-process daw ang insurance, 50% lang daw ng deductible ang babayaran ko sila na bahala. sagot ko, "manigas kayo! basahin mo police report at saka mo sabihin sa akin kung may masisingil kayo sa insurance ko." kinuha ang police report, "ay sorry sir ngayon ko lang nakita. ok sasabihin ko sa kanya di pwede." end of story, di na tumawag ulit.

About a handful bro.,- ilagay mo sa isang plastic container na walang takip. Place it underneath the seat. Para sigurado kang hindi matatapon,- place the plastic container in a small plastic bag na bukas....

Ako, one in front, and one at the back...

Sobra kasi rito, pati mga bagong Crosswind (plate number Pxx),- pinapara nila for the on-the-spot smoke belching test... I saw a couple of them in one instance,- isang nakapara at isang nakaparada na mukhang bumagsak ng test.

Not because I am not confident with our ride, but then again,- they could alter the test to make any diesel ride fail, plus the abala....

    *CVT,
I've seen those vultures there. And also before along Kalayaan Ave in between South Ave and N. Garcia. So far they haven't tried stopping me on either of my 2 diesel rides, thankfully. Might still be apprehensive to get in front of a fast big van or suv with a big grille.
