Just checked... 44mpg US, puts it at 18.7km/l... 5.3 l/100km puts it at 18.8... still to be confirmed, though.

But get this... the Accent diesel is already a 100k peso premium on the car... considering the Getz 1.4 is 550k, and the Getz CRDi is 628k, this is a fair assumption on the basis of 1.5 gas vs. 1.5 turbodiesel. This puts the hybrid premium at possibly another 250k... say, around 1m. (hopefully) since this is only a mild hybrid. It looks like the mechanicals are quite simple. That premium would also cover the airbags and ABS people expect of cars in that price range.

Still, 19km/l isn't far off the CRDi's test numbers (15-17 km/l in urban conditions)... it'll be a very tough sell.

This would put Hybrid sellability to the test... are people willing to pay 1m for an Accent? We're going to find out whether they'll pay 1.5m for Civic when THAT hybrid comes in. This will be an interesting test case as to whether the demographic that would most benefit from the Hybrid would buy it.

even if it has price tag of only800k, d ako susubok nyan. ayaw ko maging guinea pig ng hybrid cars. siguro pati pag memekaniko nyan, may premium din ang service charge.
