how exactly do you drive with the paddle shifters? same ba to sa tiptronic na semi-manual mode?
as in anytime pwd ka magdownshift and upshift even if ur not in the correct speed/rpm range? is it smart enough to detect in case ur downshifting by mistake?
by switching to S mode, you have more control of the paddle shifters. though you can still do the paddles in D mode.
the paddle shift system is wise enough to detect if you are going to blow up the engine or make the engine work hard. in a specific speed, you can only upshift/downshift only in a range best suited for the engine. so let's say you are cruising at 60kmh and you are 5th gear on manual (paddle shifters in S mode), then you tried to downshift to 4th... engine will rev up high dito and when you immediately try to go down to 3rd gear, the system will not allow you to since you are going to blow up the engine anyway. this may not be the accurate way to illustrate it but this is close enough para makita how wise the system works. just the same, if you are going around 30kmh and on 3rd, you have to reach certain RPMs(around 1500+ ata) for the system to allow you to shift to 4th. and also if you are travelling at 60kmh on 5th and for some reason you forgot to press on the accelerator and downshift, the system will automatically downshift for you...
(Gurus, correct me if I'm wrong)

[Front]
[Rear Spoiler]
[Hands-Free Bluetooth]

additional questions na rin:
does the 1.3 variant have
-rear power windows
-standard/optional arm rest (yung isa lang or tig isa driver at front passenger?)
-optional foglamps
-optional rear arm rest
-sunroof
-cruise control
Sorry, but it's totally different from the CVT shifting with the buttons for the following reasons:
1. With the GE's D mode, you can use the paddles to either upshift or downshift to your preferred gear. You will see the gear you selected on the LED display on the guage cluster. However the system automatically reverts to full automatic mode after a few seconds and reselects (if it has to) the appropriate gear based on the driving speed, throttle position and load on the engine among others.
2. With the GE's S mode, you can accelerate all the way up to the rev-limiter and the system will not change gear unless you flick the + paddle to upshift. So in a sense it is now more of a "true" manual mode since the driver controls the gear shifting on S mode. Unlike in the GD's CVT system where the system shifts up at about 5200 rpm or so whether you like it or not as a failsafe to protect the CVT components whether it's in S or D modes.
There are still some failsafe settings to avoid over-revving the engine on downshifts like delaying the engagement of the next lower gear.
sir dorjun,
up to now, wala pa rin jazz ko. dealer ko is honda cars ilocos. sabi ko sa SA na dapat maideliver niya yung unit ko by the 26th otherwise i will withdraw my reservation he he he - ultimatum!!!!! ( i hope it works hahaha)
sir mikko
ask ko lang sir about sa GE's S mode. the S mode enables the driver the reach a higher rpm before shifting to the next higher gear as compared to the D mode. But does the S mode allow an earlier shifting (lower rpm) to the next higher gear? thanks po
may nakapag palit na ba sounds sa jazz nyo? Yung stock kaya ng jazz eh may RCA out na?
