    Sir airolynx,

Honda City 1.5E AT...1st full tank ko ung 7.5km/L with Shell Unleaded

I know I have a light foot...kase sa 2003 lynx M/T ko..nakaka-9 to 10 km/L ako...to think it has a bigger engine...although alam ko naman di ko pwede macompare ang manual and automatic

Ang usual route ko is Pasig > C5 > Makati...mga 8am ako pumapasok so rush hour talaga...tpos pabalik ko naman 7pm...travel time is usually 1 hour

I really hope my car is just new...sana tumaas pa...pupunta ako sa Honda Rizal to have my car checked and back sensor installed...

Hmm... considering your route, and you have the TOTL 1.5E. I think that is caused by two things: 1) your car is brand new... You need to give it time to 'run in'. Expect a higher FC when your car reaches around 5k kms mark. 2) The route you're going through. rush hour.. heavy traffic. 7.5km/liter seems normal to me.

Now my suggestion to improve this on a heavy traffic (as i practice myself everyday), try to stick to one lane and just go with the flow of traffic. Switching lanes and sudden acceleration will have a drastic effect on your FC.

Simple lang sir. If you also have the 2009 City, mayroon syang actual fuel consumption meter. Basically on my NLEX drive, i try to stay between 70-80kph and keeping the AFC meter above 20km/liter. Then kapag nasa EDSA naman ako, i stay in one lane only (unless may nag full stop sa lane ko at matagal, that's the only time mag change lane ako). Very light acceleration on climbs and I take off my foot on the gas when going downhill. All this I try to keep the AFC meter above 20km/liter. :D Hope that helps! Hopefully one of these days I can start a thread how to achieve that for our fellow City brothers.

Galing naman. I don't own a 2009 City..mine is an FD A/T. I only average 6.5-7.0km/L purely city and 11km/L highway. I'm planning to buy a subcompact, preferrably hatchback.

Thanks!

Same question ako sir.

    Ride: 2010 Honda Civic 1.8S A/T
    Odo reading: 2,000+ kms
Fuel used: Petron XCS (sometimes Xtra Unleaded)
Route: Just within Makati, living near office (RCBC Plaza)

Ave. FC for pure city driving - 6 km/l
Ave. FC mixed city and a back & forth trip to Morong, Bataan - 11 km/l (ave. 100kph during the Bataan trip)

But knowing all the info above, ok lang po ba yung fc ko?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering kung anong gauge yun . Sa inova kasi digital yung km/l gauge kaya easy to understand. I have a 3 day old city 1.5 AT and Im learning a lot from this thread how to maximize fuel consumption. Now alam ko na kung paano gamitin yung gauge na yun, thanks for the info. Will post after my first full tank how I fared. Happy motoring to all.

My car is a 1997 honda city 1.3.

FC for mixed highway and city drive (SLEX Binan to Makati) = 11-12 km/l.

Purely highway driving (SLEX and STAR tollway to Batangas) = 14-15 km/l.

    Petron XCS fuel.
