March 6th, 2024 08:16 PM #11032008 Honda City 1.3L i-dsi Manual
(Popularly known as "Ipis", natawagan na rin na parang ice shaver yung design. Personally, nakikita ko syang pwedeng kotse ng Boazanian empire. Siguro dahil sa sungay?)
Avg - 13.08 km/L
High - 17.45 km/L
Low - 9.13 km/L
Full-tank method. Mixed city and highway driving.
Period Tested: around 3 years/40k km (second owner; started monitoring at 78k km mileage to present)
Always used 91octane (Caltex or Petron) gasoline.
Stock wheels. Fresh Manual Transmission Fluid and Spark plugs.
Tracked FC using Keep Notes sa simula then I found this app - Car Expenses (ver30.87 Free Version).
I consider myself light-footed and a conscious hypermiler (pulse and glide whenever possible).
Car is driven alone maybe 30-40% of the time; daily driver for work (for me and passenger wife who doesn't drive) and school service to young children.
Factors that affect FC based on personal observation:
1. Engine Oil
20w50 - 12.45 km/L avg (mostly pandemic years) Motech Mineral Oil
10w40 - 12.94 km/L avg (achieved lowest 9.13) Castrol
10w30 - 13.26 km/L avg (achieved highest 17.45) Honda
Currently using Eneos 5w-40 Fully Synthetic. FC seems the same as Honda 10w30 if not marginally better. Noticed that engine revs faster more easily with Eneos by observing my tachometer.
2. Techron
Sinubukan ko yung isang bote when I was running 10w40 oil.
Pre-Techron - 12.78km/L
Post-Techron - 13.19km/L
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
