according sa forum, i-DTEC (Diesel) model lang ang nagkaroon ng issue. not affected ang i-VTEC (Gas) models sold locally.

Just got a chance to check my petrol Amaze physically. Unlike diesel air intake, in petrol variant is on top as Tiger_Stripes rightly said at the level of headlight. Big relief.

During this close to 200-kilometer drive, both cars managed figures northward of 11.3 km/L; pretty commendable given the ECO coaching light rarely lit.

I wonder what the FC would be if driven with ECO On all the way.

The ECO Light will come on when the engine is running efficiently, whether the engine is running on less cylinders, or you are driving at a steady RPM, etc.

Can't really use this FC as a basis since it the cars were driven on hilly, winding roads at high speed. I'm pretty sure the G4 and Wigo would yield the same results if driven this way.

Guys, is brio really that bad a deal? Im considering this for my first car actually because of the 1.3l 4cy engine that's supposedly more balanced against its 3cy counterparts. Parang wala kasi msyado ngpopost for this model unlike the other brands..

"plumbing for the air intake is on the underside of the bonnet.."
i couldn't find a picture that explains it all, but this statement above , to me, means that water can get sucked into the cylinders just by throwing a pail of water onto its nose..
it also suggests, if the owner simply removes this intake, the problem is solved. it's ugly, but it's solved.

my old cedia also had its air intake up front, but it's protected from direct splashing by sheet metal..
apparently, the brio's is not protected at all from direct splashing.

Their test route is in Sto. Domingo, Albay, on the road going to Misibis Bay. I tried flogging my Ranger here before, then drove back to Legaspi. I think I got 11 km/L IIRC.

11.3 isn't so bad.

if you want power, brio tops its class. btw i prefer the hatch over the amaze.

Sa mga Amaze A/T owners ano average FC nyo?

Honda Amaze S A/T unit ko, average FC ko light traffic (6am wekdays Via EDSA) ay nasa 10-11km/L pero kapag medium to heavy traffic (5pm via EDSA) ay nasa 8-9km/L.

kanina 6am via EDSA pumalo ako ng 13km/L (ngayon ko lang sinubukan > naka neutral kapag pababa ng flyover at minsan kahit patag basta nag-gain ako na ng momentum then alaly na lang sa brake) pero baka tsamba lang ito hehehe.

25km ang byahe ko valenzuela to makati via EDSA

Thanks For the information, i did a little research and from what I've read you will not save gas putting most automatic transmission cars in neutral, since most cars use fuel injection and are set to dispense the same amount of fuel at idle regardless of being in Neutral. Also, switching in & out of gear while moving might stress the mechanicals... Not a good idea. kaya mga sirs wag tutularan

Neutral coasting works. Sometimes, preserving momentum is more important than getting exactly 0 liters of consumption per kilometer... because you'll need to spend more fuel getting that speed back.

How stressful it is for the car depends. On most modern automatics, it should not be a big problem. It should be noted that there are automatic transmission cars nowadays that shift themselves into neutral when you lift off the pedal... to save gas. ;)

try mo daan sa lubak about 1" deep/high * 40kph
pansinin mo yun steering wheel, basta siguraduhin mo lang handa yung kamay mo para kontrahin

My sister just got a Brio V a/t last week. mas power full kaysa sa Mirage gls CVT. Pero mukang mas matipid ang Mirage and mas maluwag.

Dahil hindi CVT ang Brio, ramdam ko ang mga up-shift nya.

Try ko sa SLEX tomorrow. Santa Rosa to Calamba and back in the evening.
