Do you still have the stock rims? May nagsabi sakin na pag magclaim daw ng warranty e isa sa mga tinitingnan yung rims kung ano ang nakakabit sa unit. Pag iba ang nakakabit na rims e hindi nabibigay ang warranty.

I've had the EPS gearbox replaced while on the RS' 17s. Tinanong lang "1.8 eto diba sir pinalitan nyo lang". Sabi ko yes, tama ka. Then approved naman.

Decided to get this instead of Rotas and the likes since may extended warranty ako. Baka maulit kase yung EPS issue. Although baka hindi na maulit since low mileage na yung car due to pandemic.

First 2 years I did 25k km. Now, since January 2020, nakaka 5k kms pa lang.

Nagpalit na din ako from Fully Synthetic to Semi Synthetic oil.

Last PMS nung Feb naka FS pa ako, nakaka 1k pa lang ako since then.

Among the sea of RS rims, here’s a different kind of 18” OEM rims for me that have served me well over the past 4+ years.

When the 3-year warranty is over, do you still have your PMS done at the casa?

Good choice nga yung IS350 F Sport.

Actually choosing between that as well and a WRX Eyesight version when it's time to sell my Civic din.

    New toy

Still deciding what to do with the Civic, for now it’s the pangharabas car but might change it up with something more practical since it’s quite redundant to keep both.

Good choice. Was eyeing some 2nd hand units last year but the pandemic made it really hard for me to travel to Luzon.

Would be hard to maintain a Lexus in Mindanao if you don’t have access to parts. Lexus are typically headache-free but as with any car, some things will need replacement over time. Ok siguro if you have specialist shops with competent mechanics over there that import Lexus parts directly, but they might not come cheap.

May isang Toyota casa dito. They apparently sell and service Lexus. There are also some shops here that also cater specifically to upper tier brands. May ferrari na nga ako nakita being serviced. 😂

Maybe next time once the pandemic ends...

Marami naman nice cars in Mindanao, for sure may specialist shops. But note that for those people with exotics there, money is not an issue so they’re willing to pay an arm and leg for the service of their cars.

Depends on your purpose I guess, personally I got the Lexus because I want something that isn’t a headache to maintain but is still fun to drive and still has good road presence. I wouldn’t have gotten it if Lexus Manila wasn’t a 15 min drive from my place, and Speedyfix (where our old cars get serviced) has good experience with cars like this din naman.

Your Legacy is a great car though. Sleeper, good tuning potential. Lots of aftermarket mods available.

After a month with the IS350, I’ve actually come to appreciate my Civic a lot more. It’s such a good car for its 1.1M price tag.

My Civic has run 80,000 km, but is just as quiet as the garage-queen Lexus with just 1/3 the mileage. No kalampag whatsoever. I haven’t changed any suspension parts, and even the original brake pads are still pretty thick.

The Civic already comes with Apple Carplay/Android Auto, remote start, brake hold - all features that don’t come standard with the more expensive Lexus. Of course the IS has much more features that the Civic doesn’t have, but the Civic is pretty loaded for the price you pay.

The Civic is spacious as far as “compact” sedans go. Much better legroom in the back with no center tunnel to bother the middle passenger. The Lexus only sits 2 at the rear comfortably because of the huge center tunnel, the Civic can easily take 3 slim folks even for an out of town trip.

Performance comes with a price, literally. I love using all 306 hp of the IS even on just short open stretched of road, but it comes with a huge fuel consumption penalty to the tune of 4-5 km/L in purely city driving. The Civic, no matter how hard I drive it in the city, will still get me 6.5-7 km/L. The Lexus just makes up for it in terms of smiles per liter. [emoji12]

Overall, the Civic is still a great car for anyone looking for a respectable car that drives very well, looks good, has all the necessary features, and is priced decently.

Brought the cars out for a mountain drive this weekend. I’m happy with how the Civic can keep up with the IS in Tanay’s twisty roads.

What it lacks in straight-line speed, it makes up with very good handling in the corners. The Civic also has better tires than the IS (Michelin PS4 vs Dunlop Direzza DZ102), and you can’t go flat out on public roads in the interest of safety anyway.

My learning - any good-handling car with at least 100 hp/ton in the hands of a decent driver can keep up with much more powerful cars on any Philippine road except SCTEX/TPLEX.
