imo, whether the newbie driver drives on edsa while "practicing" with a student license or with a real driver's license right after he received it, there will always be a first time he'd drive on edsa or on an expressway.

I was coming from the underpass of Crossing (Shaw/EDSA) and syempre mas mabilis kasi kelangan ng power kasi nga incline. I was driving a Pajero kaya medyo mabigat yung oto nung prumeno. E biglang nag full stop, so brake din kaagad ako.
dapat pag naka-red na yun sa harap mo, d ka menor. dapat slight tapak ka kagad sa preno to anticipate the worse coz you still have momentum & malaki pa dala mo ... and regarding sa incline sa crossing, it's not that steep for you not to see the vehicle at the top.

Well, just playing devil's advocate, but isnt the MINIMUM speed limit on EDSA 60kph?

Whats everyone doing strolling along? hehe speed freak po sorry haha

and I do remember also reading something about it being illegal for students to be taught on national highways, although it does make me wonder how such a slow speed 50-60kph can be caught off guard. A Pajero is big and heavy, ours is, but it doesn't have butter fingers for brakes.

I guess unless we really have pictures of the scenario, i.e. the incline, point of view from your car etc. we can't really do anything but presume you are at fault, being the more experienced driver.

Although if it is proven that it is illegal to be taught on a national highway, then bam. Instant win.

I don't want to sound rude but I am sure malaki ang sign na "Student Driver" sa likod ng car. Obviously, extra cautious dapat tayo sa kanila. Sudden stops cannot be avoided kasi "student driver" nga.

Ang nakakainis is when a Taxi or jeep na bigla na lang mag brake kahit saan nila gusto. Doon ka dapat magalit.

    medyo OT din,

dyan din (yata) ako nag-aral sa sosyalayt na yan. puro pang-gugulang sa driving ang tinuro sakin nung head instructor hehehe, pero may kasama good tips din. di naman ako sinabak sa EDSA, pero pinaakyat agad ako ng antipolo for the uphill driving lessons.

    *altis
