Basta sa lahat - Give those student drivers more than enough space. You too were once a student driver and you know how scary it is driving for the first time.

Passing a driver's test and having a licence means having the least skill to allow you to drive on public roads. Student drivers are allowed to practice on roads because they are students, in need of skills to pass the minimum requirement.

Having said that, it is your responsibility as a licenced driver with more experience to give the student a wider berth. If the standard distance is the 2-second rule, it should be farther when dealing with student drivers. While rain/bad weather calls for even greater distances, it's ultimately up to you to gauge the stopping distance at anytime.

The fact that you hit the other car meant that you were driving too close. Good thing that nobody was injured, but I hope that experience has taught you the lesson of keeping a good distance to the vehicle in front, whatever the speed may be. Ingat sa kalsada.

Also, don't be too quick on the horn when encountering a student driver. Baka magkamali ng kabig, mahirap na.

Kawawa naman yung student driver, di pa nakakatapos matuto mag drive natrauma agad! hehe...

Anyway, since ikaw nga yung nasa likod sana lumipat ka ng ibang lane o kaya nag slow down, after all may notice nga naman na student driver, baka may magawang unexpected yun.

I was coming from the underpass of Crossing (Shaw/EDSA) and syempre mas mabilis kasi kelangan ng power kasi nga incline. I was driving a Pajero kaya medyo mabigat yung oto nung prumeno. Malayo pa lang nakita ko na syang nag red yung brake lights nya kaya menor kagad ako, ready to brake. E biglang nag full stop, so brake din kaagad ako.

I understand na ako yung nakabangga and kawawa naman yung Student Driver. My concern is the instructor's responsibility in these cases. Pano kung sila yung nakabangga? Pano kung naging cause of a major accident ang isang Student Driver na hindi pa masyado marunong at isinabak ng Instructor sa isang major road, tulad ng EDSA...

Actually, umiiwas talaga ako sa mga Student Driver sa daan. Malayo pa lang, I change lanes. E yun nga lang, di ko nakita masyado kasi pataas yung kalsada. Haay...

Altis: Di kita inaaway ha hehe wana make that clear lang.

    1) Since incline yung road, gravity alone should help you slow down even more diba?

    2) Regarding student on EDSA. It really doesn't make much of a difference whether student or not. Kung nagkaaccident, magkakaaccident (kaya nga accident diba), if you think about it, the probability of a bus or other PUV hitting you will be exponentially higher than a student driver.

Most student drivers are snails on the road, the more na di sila natatamaan or nakakatama other than small fender benders during singitan or kung nasignitan.

Again, di kita inaaway, but ang dami dami dami daming driver na may licensya na di dapat nasa kalsada ngayon, private or public. Student drivers are annoying sometimes, but doesn't take more than a simple overtake to get rid of them.

AFAIK, the instructor (assuming na lisensyado siyang magmaneho) will be legally liable kung makabangga yung student driver. Plus there's a corresponding fee yata na sisingilin ang Socialites sa student driver, depende sa gravity ng aksidente.
