this is my first post and nagkataon sa goon squad..

medyo ganyan din kasi ang nangyari sa akin last week in SLEX naman. pero ako ang nasa pwesto ng fortuner sa kwento ng TS. 1st car is vios, 2nd is civic ES and 3rd ME. all in the "overtaking lane".

im fast in the overtaking lane averaging at 110kmh (BUT aware of my rear view mirror if there is a vehicle fast approaching behind) all of a sudden i have to decelerate because there are two cars running i guess at 80km/h or below in front of me and seeing that the whole stretch of the road in front of the 1st car is very clear. so I flashed my light on the 2nd car few times and he MOVED to the left. (siguro in his mind, ikaw na ang bahala dyan sa 1st car!) but yung 1st car talaga ang matigas ang ulo! ayaw magmove kahit ilang beses na ako ng flash ng light sa kanya! (remember, he is running i guess at 80km/h or below). nainip na ako i overtake at the right side then go back to the overtaking lane and cut the 1st car. tingin ko sa side mirror ko malapit kong tamaan ng rear bumper ko ang front bumper ni 1st car. i regret what ive done kasi bastos sa tingin ko pero im very pissed off at that time kaya ko nagawa.

yes, madali lang talaga pumunta sa outermost lanes where i can run fast but at that time i want to give the 1st car a lesson.

to the TS, sana pinaubaya mo na lang din agad sa fortuner yung matigas na ulong 1st car na yun!

niflash ko sya few times hinde nag move then yun fortuner na nasa likod ko ni flash din ako then hinde na nya binaba so after a while since hinde nag move yun 1st car nag move na ako sa right slowing down then nagpunta ako sa likod ng suv and nag taas ako bright(pero useless naman pla)

ang lumalabas ako pa yun mali only few peeps nagets yun situation

avg speed ko sa nlex 140 AVG not max but yun naging cause ng "traffic" yun 1st car na ayaws magmove

pero yun mas nakakainis yun sa likod ko

What you try to explain is very clear to us...you are caught between the slow car in front of you and the one behind you flashing the light to inform you to speed up or move out of the way since the 3 of you are on the same fast / overtaking lane of nlex.

If i'm caught in the same situation...I'll never stay long in that lane. If there's a slow moving vehicle in front of me while in the fast left lane, I will switch to the right lane then speed up and gain a 4 car distance from the slow car on my left and again to switch to the overtaking lane. We don't need to be offended if somebody flashes lights. It is a sort of communication "I'm fast approaching, so speed up or else get out of the way".

Pag maraming reklamo sa pagmamaneho, wag na magdrive. Sumakay na lang sa victory liner at matulog.. It's as simple as that. Unang-una kasi dapat pinoprotektahan ang sarili. Kung may tumutok, baka may mangyaring aksidente.

Whether we are in italy, in the states, or even in europe, we will encounter this flashing light thing by somebody behind us to inform that we need to respond 'get out of the way or speed up'.

Ang problema kase satin, pag fellow pinoy ang gumagawa ng ganito, nagagalit tayo, pero pag foreigner ang gagawa nito satin ang katwiran "bigayan talaga kung sino mabilis" kase nakikigamit lang tayo ng kalye nila at tayo ang alien sa kanilang lugar.

To TS...we hope you will not encounter this scenario there in italy...BTW, do you got a license permit to drive! Hope you have...

That's exactly what my dad did... after years on the road, he decided to start taking the Victory Liner coaches when we go up north then let me bust it out on the road with the car.

I opened this thread ASKING what ang gagawin nyo sa situation nangyari sakin nagkamali ako or me doubts kaya ask ako sa inyo matagal na nagda drive sa pinas, not useless advise of yours dude

noone cruise on left/overtake lane in here so hinde mangyayari yun nangyari sakin na naipit dahil meron sa left lane mabagal na hinde nagbibigay and dito no need to flash mostly of the time

It's always a good idea to assess the road situation ahead of you.

What you should do is this: Stay on the right side.

While it's not illegal to cruise in the 3rd lane... it's even better to cruise in the 2nd lane and only move to the 3rd lane to overtake.

If both lanes are taken, then use the 4th lane, but only to overtake... and then merge right right away. If there's a guy there who refuses to move over, give him a flash of your lights and a few beeps. If he doesn't want to move over... pull back into the 3rd or 2nd lane and look for a way around him.

By following him, you're contributing to traffic in the passing lane. Let the NLEX patrols or the pricks in their big SUVs deal with him. Tailing another car at 140 km/h isn't exactly the safest thing to do...
