unless you dont have the balls to confront the guy i guess.....

When karma strikes, the offended party never there to witness it....
I believe in karma. But I also want to be there when karma strikes.

^I guess sometimes the offended party is there, sometimes not, but for sure, the offending party just gets what he deserves

I had a recent incident with a "not-too-civilized" jeepney driver along Shaw as well. It was a Sunday afternoon and I was driving along Shaw from Kapitolyo going towards Shangrila in the middle lane when a jeep that was on the right lane picking up people suddenly started and swerved to the left (with no hand or light signal) just as I got reached his rear part. Naturally, I had to break hard and beeped my horn to warn him that there was someone behind him, but he just when on without skipping a beat. He also ran a red light. So I stopped and waited for the light to turn green. This was at around the Tropical Hut area.

When the light turned green I moved on. Imagine my chagrin when the same jeep did it again: he was stopped, picking up passengers, and when I reached his rear portion (again, I was on the middle lane and he was on the right lane), he abruptly started and swerved to my lane with no signal whatsoever!

Really pissed this time, I honked my horn long, and maneuvered my vehicle so that I am side by side with him. I rolled down my window and (I admit I shouted) told him "Ayusin mo naman pagmamaneho mo! Mag signal ka para di ka makadisgrasya!" I then rolled my window up and moved on.

This apparently pissed him off that he made every effort to catch up with me and I could see (but can't hear) him gesturing at me and shouting at me, even pointing his finger at me. Sensing that I was ignoring him, he made a final effort to cut me, to be foiled by the traffic situation... until we reached just past Lourdes. There he managed to squeeze his jeepney and partially blocked me. So I rolled down my window and looked at him and heard him tell me something like "sige, bumaba ka at tuturuan kita ng leksyon. Araw araw ako dito at di kita papapormahin." (or something like that... and note that it was much more adjective-laden, hehe)

I was thinking of a smart retort when I saw a Pasig TE approach us so I kept my mouth shut. The driver kept on muttering stuff. When the TE reached my window he asked what happened. I said "E chief, pinagsabihan ko yung driver na yan na ayusin ang pamamaneho kasi swerve ng swerve at di nagsisignal. Ngayon, ako pa hinahamon at tinatakot."

With that, the TE walked to the jeepney driver and ticketed him for traffic obstruction (he was causing traffic blockage because he blocked me partially). They had an argument and shortly thereafter, another TE came by on a motorcycle. With that, I left them and went on my way, with them still arguing with each other. Hehehe!

*innoBOB[09JmtG] - actually I wanted to (hehehe), kaso the TE was nearby and was able to intervene. He (the jeepney driver) definitely won't know where I park since I live inside a subdivision, haha!

*badsekktor - I actually carried a licensed gun waaaaaay back in the past, about a decade and a half ago. I used to work in a government agency and was assigned a handgun at a time when the work turned a little bit... unconventional (don't ask, I am not allowed to say). Anyway, a traffic altercation with a stupid teenager (cut me three times in the early morning, he and his two companions were drunk) made me realize how easy it is for me to make a mistake (ok, so I did commit a mistake at that time) so that same day, I returned the gun. Today, I am thinking of getting a licensed firearm again because I do a significant amount of out-of-town driving, oftentimes carrying expensive equipment and some cash, but I always back out at the last moment because of apprehensions of misuse on my part. I got family and am wary of doing something stupid because I have a gun with me. But that's me

At the end of the day, I realized that by taking the moral high ground in the altercation with the jeepney driver, some higher powers made sure the bad person got what he deserved

sorry for advising you with that one.... maybe im just angered with your encounter.

If i were in your shoes, i'd probably pulled my window down and stick my middle finger up and drive.... I still own several handguns, and a couple of rifles though but i never applied for any permit to carry them....

well having a gun in the car can be a good or a bad thing ....

it can be good because you are ready if danger happens like hijackers try to open your vehicle or steps in front of you instructing you to open your doors for them to be able to get in etc. etc.

it can be bad since there are instances that you use the gun even you shouldn't, example of this would be traffic altercations. SOME irresponsible gun owners shoot the " suspect " if he has been cut or he encounters a rough talk with a specific driver -, topic too shallow for the " oppressed " to shoot the " oppressor "

if you can, just fix things by talking. if you can't .... leave them and let karma do her thing.

I believe so too. I think the passengers of the Innova did have a firearm (even firearms) and may have even considered using it, but perhaps one of them was able to convince the rest that using a gun might be too much and that a pipe-based disciplining would suffice.
