Sabi dito, tail lights should be very visible to ensure safety. Well, I agree to that HOWEVER some apparently don't.

How? By doing this...



For some vehicles, it might look nice and may add to the overall appearance pero, sorry sa mga mabubutt-hurt, it's quite stupid since you're compromising the safety of not just yourself but others as well.

Mababawasan yung ilaw na ma-eemit from the tail lights = mas mahirap makita sa gabi... what if pag umuulan na?!



Ok lang amber amber sa turn signals pero dark tint on your tail lights, seriously?!?!

I'm one of those who turn on the hazards during very heavy rains sa coastal road. It was driven by the fact that my rear end was smashed during the day when there was heavy rain by another motorist who didn't see my tail lights. 'Sobrang lakas daw ng ulan at hindi nya masyado nakita'. So I guess I'm doing it out of fear to get bumped from behind. So far I have never been hit again during heavy rains while using my hazards. But since I learned from this thread that it is not the right thing to do, I will try to 'unlearn' it.

I was driving around 3pm at NLEX when it rained so hard with almost zero visibility. If the car didnt turned on his/her hazard lights, i wouldnt able to safely navigate that road. So i was thinking, mali ba talaga ginawa nya considering it really helped with my driving?

Try to install some rear fog lamps if available for your car model. It'll be safer than using hazard lights. It should not cost more than P1 thousand.

Rear fog lights are RED. They're not the same with front fog lamps which are commonly (yellowish) WHITE.

Paano mo mapagkakamalan yung likod na harap?

Ano naman kung nasa Pilipinas ka? Paano naging tama na mag-on ng hazard lamps pag low visibility?

Hindi ba mas delikado kung hindi mo alam kung liliko yung kotse sa tabi o harap mo? O baka naman hindi ka nagsisignal pag nagpapalit ng lane kaya hindi ka na-aaffect.

Sorry but I can't think of a situation na mapagkakamalang harap yung likod mo when running on the road. You wouldn't go as fast as 30+ kph on reverse on a bad weather would you? And yes tama si renz, red po ang kulay ng RFL (rear fog light). Mas maliwanag sya sa park lights kaya kita agad sya, mas visible.

And sa tingin ko, wala pa tong near zero visibility na naeexperience natin pag umuulan. Sa ibang bansa andyan ang sandstorm, snowstorm, and fog (sa atin sa Baguio and Tagaytay mostly). Di mo rin masasabing "mas marunong pa sila sa situation ng roads ng bansa natin".

Ang problema kasi, nakasanayan na. Ganyan ang pinoy, basta nakasanayan, syempre susundan. Guilty rin naman ako dito nung bago pa lang ako nagmamaneho pero nung nalaman kong mali sya, tinigilan ko na.

Nakaexperience na ko zero visibility, twas last year while heading back here to Manila. Sa may bandang Tarlac, it was raining hard, walang streetlights at walang lines ang kalsada to the point na nahuhulog na gulong ko sa gilid ng kalsada. Walang sasakyan sa harap ko, good thing may umovertake saken at kabisado niya ang daan, taga dun siguro un.

Don't do that, it actually makes it harder for other motorists to see where you are. It's hard to estimate the position and speed of two blinking lights in the rain! You also lose the use of your turn signals, which is doubly important when visibility is low.

Instead, turn on your REGULAR lamps.

YES!! + 1000 dont use hazard light pag umuulan,foggy dahil d alam nung mga nasa likod mo kung pupunta ka sa left or right, ,,hazard light as the term says..hazardous ang sasakyan mo kelangan iwasan ..use it only pag napahinto ka o nasiraan ka.d mo rin pwedeng gamitin incase of emergency,use headlights and horn .nung kumuha ako ng driving license ko sa ibang bansa isa ito sa mga must know mo use of hazard light..

oo nga pala, when i turn on my hazaeds during heavy rain, naisip ko rin naman yung magiging confusion sa likod. So what i do is i turn them off then signal light sa tamang direction then balik hazard ulit pag straight na. Although doesnt justify it nga to be right.

Minsan talaga kulang ang Taillights in Heavy downpour.

Kaya nga required equipment ito sa Europe.

I really hate it too when during heavy rains, drivers turn on their hazard lights especially in the city and yet they keep on changing lanes. It is so confusing. I don't know if the vehicle is stalled or having an emergency then when you overtake, it will suddenly go to your lane or speed up. If the rain is too heavy for you to see a vehicle in front, just turn on your lights or pull over first, otherwise, just drive slowly and keep a safe distance.

Roughly translated in tagalog = Kawawang kaluluwa na walang alam! .......

I never use my (rear) fog lamps here in the city, kawawa naman yung nakasunod sa akin.
