January 1st, 2016 12:35 PM #72For those not familiar with SLEX, there is a exit towards the fort on the right side which is separated by barriers which the innova missed. So what the idiot tried to do was make a right turn towards the entry from the fort to slex which is one way. He did this from the left side of the expressway and cut all the way to the right and counterflowed towards the fort. The video doesn't show this. The rider didn't overtake as some here keep saying, he switched lanes. Know the difference.
If you are switching lanes the driver must not just glance once but has to constantly be checking the mirrors to make sure the path is clear which the innova did not do and actually in his desire not to miss his opportunity to get to the fort, kept trying to turn right even though the biker was already beside him clearly visible and audible.
And those defending the scooter rider that never checked his mirrors at all before switching lanes to the left and almost causing an accident, you guys need your eyes checked.

^not really defending the "scooter" rider. He missed to double check his 7-9 o'clock kung merong kasunod yung unang "scooter" rider na lumagpas sa kanya. Coz the video is clear, at some point , you are visually blocked by the rider in front. And with your speed, nabulaga na sya katabi na nya si .. "Rossi" (muntik na sya masipa).. :D
Kitang kita na nagulat , ang layo nung bumalik sya sa kanan.

January 2nd, 2016 03:33 AM #78You forget, no signal lights bro. Also, the distance, parehas dikit na saakin yung mga taxi ng pumasok sa lane ko. In short, hindi ko alam na papasok sila until bumulaga na sila.
In your scenario, the Innova signaled habang malayo layo kapa. You even beeped because you KNEW he was turning, hindi ka lang nagbigay.

After Nichols Exit? There is really a makeshift exit there going to the service road. I'm not sure if we're pointing at the same section, if so then he did not do a counterflow. Maybe he should have used the right side exits so as not to have inconvenienced the MC rider. But the way the MC rider "changed lanes" was dangerous for both motorists. As mentioned by b_9904 below, there is a blind spot to the right. I had a similar situation before when I was driving my innova at the NLEX. Checked my rearview, clear. Checked my right side view mirror, clear then I started changing to the right. But there was a small car, not even a motorcycle I would have run to had I proceeded with the turn. But the good thing was my wife was quite alert to warn me and we averted an accident. Should I have been more vigilant to check beyond the rearview and side mirrors, definitely. I'm not condemning the MC rider in your video but he could have been more careful in those moments leading to the near side crash.
Oh well, Happy New Year[emoji6]
