may I also share my 2cent opinion on this, as far as i know these roads (traffic routes, in particular) are made for motorized vehicles, so when a bicycle hits the road, the bicycle rider should be aware that he is only borrowing a piece of space solely intended for motorized vehicles, I'm not saying this to destroy anyone's logic... its like borrowing an item and when the owner comes you have to give it back to the owner, in the same manner as when you (as a biker) take a lane and when the motorists needs that lane you have to give it back to them, regardless if there's a 25kph truck up ahead and besides if these trucks hit 25kph it means there's traffic in the area, they (truck) cannot afford to slow down why? because they have a deadline (delivery) to meet and they come late with their deliveries there are sanctions against the operator of the delivery truck. Now, what do you do as a biker? when someone honks at you indicating they wanted to pass, give the lane to the vehicle and go to the side and continue pedaling if you can and if you cannot, you stop until its safe to continue biking. I know the bicycling community here in the metro at least has grown immensely and these group are advocating for a separate lane for bicycles, but until such time that we'll have a bicycle lane we (bikers, that includes me because i'm also a biker) all are just borrowing a space from motorized vehicles, i may be wrong on this one but i stand by it...
