LTO is UNDER the DOTC. The LTO will do what the DOTC says. The DOTC handled the bidding for the plates, and the winning bidder did a poor job in manufacturing the plates, which the LTO rejected. If the LTO did not reject the plates and were passed on to the motorists, more people will be pissed off and this time, it will be the LTO's fault for not doing quality check on the plates.

If both parties are doing their respective jobs cleanly and legally then it should have not taken this long. It's almost one year and these 3 government bodies(LTO, DOTC & DOST) does not seem to find the right bidder. Maybe because "the price isn't right" yet.

My point here, it should have not taken them this long.

Hingi ka sales invoice na iba iba ang date para laging bago. 1 week lang allowed mag travel ang new cars without OR/CR.

meron form na binibigay ng LTO kung wala pa yung OR/CR and plates. nabigyan kami nun ng SA namin last august (nung nag-expire yung 2 weeks DR) and valid siya until sept 30. leterhead ng LTO, tapos nakalagay dun authorization to use vehicle "in lieu of license plates and OR/CR" tapos may temporary number (kasi wala pa nga yung plate number). basta ni-register na nila ang kotse mo meron binibigay na ganyan ang LTO. renewable din siya afaik. nagpakuha pa nga ako ulit before sept 30 kaso sinabi ng SA namin na pa-release na yung plates kaya di na siya kumuha pa. ask mo SA mo, dapat alam nya yan.

*Yebo: ah baka po permit to travel yan sir, wala din binigay sakin na ganyan, nung nag request ako, ako pa makulet pinagpipilitan nyang kaya nga raw may documents syang binigay at yun ang ipakita pag ako pinara sya ang papakausap ko sa mga traffic enforcer, parang hindi marunong. and hindi parin nya alam kung naka registered na bukas pa raw nya check kung andyan na or/cr.

New license plate format was barred by LTO for 2013 which may implement on Jan. It has security features preventing from fake ones. It has new font & with 4 numbers based on LTO. We will wait and see since me , I am waiting also for my plates and hoping that issued will be the new design.

regarding the new plates for 2013, since it will have one-way screws, paano kaya kung magre-repair ng bumper like when repainting, etc... malamang bibili ulit ng new plates (P450 daw cost) pag ganun... this means di na rin pwede kabitan ng mga plate covers which is using the same screws... how about using the tilting plate mount kaya... malamang may bagong mga restrictions na naman iimplement yan once they release this new plate type next year... yari ang business ni deflector at iba pang plate covers...

Paano ulit mangyayari sa mga may existing plates? Sana hindi i-redesign, as is nalang. Para yung mga may existing plates, walang arte arte regarding sa screws. Lol.

kulitin mo SA mo baka may hindi nakumpletong papeles yun kaya wala pa. Unit ko dito sa probinsiya nabili pero manila plate 3 months waiting sa plate.
