    OT:

Hercules, that was Holy Wednesday, March 23, around noon. I forgot which part of Quezon it was, pero yun yung may maraming puno, with the watermelon vendors left and right. Tapos gradually nagiging one lane yung kalsada because the bridge there was damaged. The day after we got to Legaspi, another group of motorcycle riders arrived at the hotel we were staying in (Sampaguita) nung umaga. Then as we were going home on Easter Sunday, may nakasabay uli kaming grupo ng riders, on the same Quezon stretch at around 10:30am. This is aside from the first group of motorcyclists we saw sa Laguna at around 9am, mostly mga scooters ang dala nila. We even saw the muffler on one scooter fall off while on the road. Didn't notice identifying marks on any of the groups.

ok ang topic n ito for riders and drivers...to exchange opinions and views...walang personalan..for the benefit of us all..

about sa "we live in a free country", i think we filipinoes should drop this F***n' line!eto ang root cause kaya di umasenso ang pilipinas, this is called: FREEDOM OVERUSED AND ABUSED...such child-act....

nga pla, most provincial trike drivers uses hand signal instead of the lights(even if they're in 100% functional....

i'm afraid sa riders with his whole family in a single motorcycle!(they should invest nalang sa 660cc vehicles, for their family's safety)

    I agree to that.

As for me, I see it as a healthy discussion between two passions.

Nice one sir....

PEACE to ALL!

    alwayz yummy,

you mean to tell me you don't believe we live in a free country? hmmm what would you rather have? a country with less or no freedoms at all. that means we won't have any forums like this to discuss the important, at least to us, issues of today like bikes and cars on the road. personally, i like my freedoms, doesnt mean i abuse them.

kasi i think freedom demands responsibilty. and i think this is where the Filipinos fall short. and this applies to the ongoing argument, its all a matter of responsibility, not to mention respect.

if you ask me, ang problema ng bayan simple: GREED. corruption. sobrang ganid ng mga naka-upo sa pwesto at paglustay ng pera ng bayan. its not so much abusing the freedoms that we have. OT na to...

pero palagay ko tama rin yung sa yo. pagbigyan mo na. doesnt hurt. that's what i do and it keeps me sane while driving hehe

how about another food for thought guys: there is a prevailing notion in other countries like the US that drivers have to treat bikers like it was another car. what do you think of this? personally, i try that notion out in my head when im driving. and to tell you the truth, it does work. but i also think that to ask to be treated like a car means riders can show you can behave in accordance ie. follow traffic rules, riding responsibly, etc. and that is where the problem lies.

see you all on the roads!!

Edit --> (replaced "she" with "he") hihihi
I think what he really meant was, he's against the abuse of freedom and not freedom itself.

Yes, I experienced driving there. But the "notion" is more like bikers should drive like a car on it's lane rather than treating bikers like it was another car.
Meaning, they should not swerve like bikes and keep the car-size space in lanes.
Maybe, we could practice that here. If more bikes don't swerve as much as they do now, and if they keep proper lane spacing (car-size spacing), this may help bikes be less invisible on our roads. What do you guys think?
Bikers drive their bike like they're driving "cages," it's a little farfetched, considering the size or our roads, and the multitude of vehicles on the road.

    Alwayz Yummy is a he.

We should give ample space between you and the vehicle in front of you whether its a motorcycle or not and ofcourse drive sensibly, always look left and right before changing lanes or crossing an intersection.

If our fellow Motorcyle drivers want us to treat them like cars then they should drive their motorcycles like cars and give us car drivers the same consideration as they expect from us. The problem is sometimes reckless motorcycle drivers don't do that put them themselves at risk.

    To all,
Why not organize a bikers-cagers event to discuss things or share thoughts, opinions, ideas.. organize a joint forum, then settle for some agreement or understanding. It will be much better than doing it here in the web forum. Eventually, regular meets maybe realized. I see it a healthy avenue to achieve harmonious relationship between bikers and cagers. Communication can be coursed through motorcycle clubs presidents or at large, thru Motorcycle Philippines Federation.

cant agree with you more. this is what i really meant po. but maybe riders here ride the way car drivers drive? hehehe joke lang po. in riding, there is an optimum position behind the car to make it more visible and staying out of the blind spot. i think it again sadly boils down to education.

    ILD,

that i think is a sensible statement. sadly, the majority of riders behave like snakes on the road. not very good. i have always thought that for car drivers to "respect" riders, riders should ride sensibly as if on a car. but thats just me.

    cheers to all.

    It's a funny thing though...

when I am driving my car and a rider cuts my path , I get pissed off.....
and then again, when I am riding my bike and a "cage" suddenly almost sideswipes me..... hmmmm..

It just goes to show na some riders AND drivers are irresponsible at "pasaway" but then again madami din naman tayo ditong RIDERS and DRIVERS na responsible that's why we are discussing this topic di ba? PEACE!!!
