In addition to switching on the hazard lights, continually blast your horn until the weather clears. It's the same logic.

O, in addition to being seen better, other drivers can also hear you pa!!!

Sometimes it's fun to do though, just to watch them make fools of themselves even more.

Kind of like Flat-Earthers, no amount of facts or science will dissuade them otherwise. It's hilarious what they believe.

    OT.
WHen talking about fools, I always remember this line from my son's favorite movie.

In the US , some states have anti hazzard law while other states allow it. Countries in South America have liberal application of hazzard lights, from pedestrian crossing to parking on the curb.

Cars in emergency braking are not going to stop in 1 second it will be in motion for several seconds depending on a lot of conditions from speed, tire, road condition, brake condition. ABS was invented to prevent brake lock so you can steer during this window. The hazzard lights in that emergency braking will trigger as soon as the system sence the force on the brake.

Review the video again and see that car is in motion while the hazzard light is flashing. You can even count the seconds before the car in the animation completely stops although the stopping distance is quite conservative from reality.

In strict sense in the use of hazzard lights in the philippines Vehicle in stopped position from emergency braking is not an exemption in the use of hazzard lights , not unless the vehicle is stopped due to collision.

sir we are talking about using of hazzard lights continuously which you and I (or probably you don't) know poses danger on the road specially to the ones behind such vehicles, your post about toyota's emergency blinking lights is quite far from what we are discussing here, nice find though...

That would've been fine to use the flashers as people drove by.

Blinding in a sense that it masks other things. You see, the nuance between a tail light that is turned on and a tail light with the brakes applied, can be masked, to a certain extent, by the blinking hazard lamps. Also, 30 left turning cars only takes a few seconds to a couple of minutes to disappear or dissipate, and they're likely to be stopped anyway and gives you some freedom to look at other things. But driving with the hazard flashers on the road, and you'll be following that car (or cars) for miles.

    Different situations.

But anyway, I think I've said my piece. One of the reasons this forum exists is so that we can teach each other to be better drivers, regardless of the corrupt norms in Philippine traffic. We should try to be the bigger man as best as we can.
akala ko ang gagawin or ginawa nila ay yun 3rd brake light lang angag blink sa sudden braking? parang mas ok yun vs hazard lights.

Nearly every manufacturer has standardized on using the hazard lights under hard braking as an 'emergency stop' signal.
I think it's a good idea. Brake lights on their own give no indication of how hard the vehicle in front is braking, when you see brakes and hazards that means the car is slowing down big time.

The use of hazards in this case is also similar to their normal use of warning other vehicles that you are stationary, or in an emergency stop situation about to become stationary.

That's true as well, especially for trolls who love to make everybody else exasperated and annoyed. It's what they live for. LoL

Anyway, BTT, regarding the Bus Accident, again. We can be sure to see a lot more of these in the next few weeks and months. The rainy season is about to go full swing.

Stay safe everyone. No tailgating please!

I am actually doing this manually ie turn on the hazard signal, under hard braking condition. Then manually turn it off once the traffic starts moving or the vehicle behind me has properly stopped or has aligned with the traffic...
