So what to do when buying 2nd hand car?
If u had just asked the TMG directly to check the car, eh di official talaga at may pinanghahawakan ka na "cleared" talaga ang oto na nabili mo
Wala pa rin update.......... This is sad.
Hopefully kaya hindi na nagpo-post yung thread starter is because naayos na nya.
There's a huge possibility na baka nga racket lang ng TMG yun. Besides, Civics never get stolen.
before i bought my car wala na din sana ako balak ipa-check kasi gustong gusto ko talaga yun kotse. Good thing pinilit ako ng bro-in-law ko ipa check sa LTO and we found out na magkaiba yun engine number nung naka file sa loob. Sinama namin yun nagbenta and through another micro-etching we found out the yun dating nag etch e hunghang! Kulang ng number and letter yun nilagay nyang engine number kaya nagkanda loko loko. It turned out that the car was ok naman pala, walang kaso o nakaw. Lesson learned is to have the papers checked yourself, pera mo yun e so mahirap na. Anyway, mukhang malabo maayos ito although meron syang kopya ng license, which i think is fake.
Side note, I know 4 of my friends that have had their civics stolen the past 12 months, from LXi to SiRs..Originally Posted by picantorange

My brother-in-law Civic stolen years ago. They recovered it in Dagupan. The tires were replaced with lousy ones. The plates were gone. There were signs that the chassis and engine numbers were altered. The radio and center console was gone. And the police used it for a few months.
Unfortunately, he could not sell the car because he can't register it and the paperworks are all a mess.
