    Haaaiyy.... Wwwooohhhsssaaa

Buhay daily drive at edsa rush hour. :D
Since umuusog yung car sa front mo to the left of the lane, tendency is hindi nga sila masisingitan pero yung next car lined-up properly, masisingitan na.

Just last night ang taas ng BP ko at panay kagat dila at deep breathing nalang ako sa EDSA. It was one of those nights where the buses were extra aggressive and really recklessly cutting cars off.

With regards to those 'cutting' vehicles. It's a problem of culture at this point. Culture ng katamaran at kakupalan.

I'm sure napapansin nyo rin, at any left or right-most lane for turning, even if konti lang nakapila (as few as 1-2 vehicles), they will always be that *$$wipe who goes to the outer lane and positions his front partially blocking the first in line, nvm if that lane is not for turning or if he's being an obstruction to free-flowing traffic.

Yesterday on EDSA, after passing Buendia i signaled my intent to switch lanes and waited for an opening for me to merge into so i could get onto the proper lane to head to Ayala. Traffic was relatively fast moving but the black Civic FD beside me just kept matching my speed so i could not switch lanes; i slow down even more to let him go ahead and lo and behold, he slows down too! Labo... Sa kaka-sabay niya sa pagbagal ng speed ko, nasingitan tuloy siya ng Grandia so i just went ahead and merged in front of the Grandia habang naipit si Mr. FD sa likod.

I agree with most of the posts in this thread.

    Not ranking according to notoriety:
Particularly notorious at Ayala tunnel northbound, Shaw Blvd underpass, EDSA service road going to Pasay rotonda southbound, and C5-Bagong Ilog northbound!
    3. Vehicles that block the intersection: Pag naka-green ang traffic light pero puno na ang unahan, wag na tumuloy kasi naaapektuhan lang ang next cycle ng traffic signal, pare-pareho lang tayo maaabala. Maraming ganito sa Ortigas Ave intersections in San Juan.
Ang ginagawa ko dito sinisilawan ko sila and I try to keep to my lane as much as possible.

Most of these notorious behavior can be traced to the culture of impunity and selfishness/ako-muna-attitude. Drivers (PUV, private, cargo trucks, motorcycles) behave the way they do on our streets because they know then can get away with it. We need to invest in CCTVs that can zoom in to the vehicle's plate number, then eliminate traffic enforcers or relegate them to the office where they can monitor the CCTV's where they catch violators remotely. The more violators they can spot, the more commission for them. Wala pang kotong kasi remote yung apprehension.

Second is the attitude prevalent on our streets, gusto natin nauuna tayo palagi, walang pakialam kung maraming maaabala sa ginagawa natin. Win-win for all.

Just this afternoon in West Avenue.

While I was slowly reversing into a slot, being mindful of traffic on the outer lane, some scrawny imbecile on a stupid underbone suddenly slipped into the slot I was going into. Got so annoyed I parked in front of his crap and blocked his exit, at the slight cost of having a few inches of my car protruding in front but still within the white "line" that divides the sidewalk and the road.

Eventually, a slot opened up on the side so practicality and "better safe" won so I went into my car and started the engine just as the idiot went out. Tapos siya pa yung parang galit na nakatingin after I told him to take note whether somebody already is trying to park bago mang-agaw ng slot.

    So I stared back.

To be honest, half of the blame why drivers don't give pedestrians any respect here goes to the pedestrians because they themselves *never* follow pedestrian lights. You go to places like Morayta/Recto and you will see masses of pedestrians, a lot of them students, crossing intersections in a pace that even icebergs can overtake, even if the pedestrian lights are red and the traffic signal for cars are green.

Yup, I agree. I'm actually referring to the (very few) places here in MM that actually have proper pedestrian crossings such as BGC, Filinvest Alabang, meron pa ba?. Again, it depends on the location. You can have no respect for unruly pedestrians in Morayta/Recto but we cannot generalize that all pedestrians are unruly and do the same for those who are following the rules in other places.

here is what i am still not getting used to during my stay here in the philippines.

no matter how large the space, even when it is just between you and the other person crossing paths in some large area, why do they still insist on "rushing" to get by you and cutting you off. the way people drive is the same as walking around.

i usually stop and just let the person walk by. i'm still not used to how people just walk on by like some royalty. i know personal space doesn't exist in the philippines, but man...

I was merging slowly on the middle lane kasi may banggaan sa leftmost lane. A TE was there to fix the traffic. Tapos may bumubusina sa kanan. Saw a Ford Focus. I stopped to give way kasi di ko sya nakita sa sidemirror ko. Tumigil ng matagal sa tabi ko kahit tinatawag na sya ng TE sa harap because she holds up traffic. Aba, magbubukas ng bintana at mumurahin ako. Squeezed past her kahit busina sya ng busina. Ayoko ng bad vibes. Adventure GX lang kasi dala ko nun kaya malamang akala nya kakayanin nya ako.

My dear driver is not in the mood to drive today, so I drove our ride this morning....

Still, drivers of bicycles, motorcycles, tricyles, jeepneys, buses violating road/traffic rules and decorums left and right..... Same is true for a good number of the private vehicle drivers....

And to think that we(they) are all voting on May 13th !!! Dios ko po !!!....

A lot of motorbikes and PUVs usually don't have any regard for pedestrians.

Last Friday i was looking for a parking slot at the mall. When i found a slot and signaled that i was going to park, I moved forward and prepared to back into the slot then tinutukan ba naman ako ng Vios behind me at binusinahan ako. Mga hindi marunong umintindi ba naman.

Sa ibang bansa nga sir, 3 cars away ang pagitan when your driving. A lot of space talaga hindi tulad dito na gitgitan.
