This morning, i was merging from the rightmost lane to get to the U-turn slot lane (maayos naman yung pag merge ko, proper speed, signal and one lane/zipper merging at a time). This lady driving a white Honda Jazz on supermenopause mode and was still far away, blows her horn like crazy and doesn't want to let me get onto her lane (this is the last lane that goes to the U-turn slot). Even if i was legitimately on her lane already, busina pa rin. Sa sobrang inis ko, I move the car aside to let her pass, and roll down my window to give the gesture na "sige mauna ka na". Langya, after all that, she was going straight pala and was not supposed to be on the U-turn lane. Naipit tuloy siya and she caused traffic to slow down pa.

Mismo! And this was all barely a km away from my home... umagang umaga ba naman.
I do hope she realized how stupid she was... Some people just don't realize that a little "bigayan" goes a long way in keeping traffic flowing smoothly and blood pressures in check. Classic example: I was in the 4-way stop intersection of Kamias and Xavierville Ave a few days ago and even if i could have continued our lane flow (turning left), i stopped and let the other cars pass and cross. The ones waiting to turn could also move and turn to their own roads. The result? My ten seconds or so of stopping and waiting resulted in all the roads in the 4-way stop clearing up and the intersection becoming open once more.

State law permits the use of hazard lights in "unfavorable atmospheric conditions" so vehicles can be more easily seen -- and that's exactly why people said they feel safer with bulbs a-blinking in rain, snow or fog.
