    LOL.

Who was the SA you talked to? What is your car make and model? Did he check the timing belt or did he base it only on the dashboard reading? Have you had it replaced before? If yes, did you use the original part? I'll do the assesment if your car really needs a new timing belt and i'll admonish the SA if he has a fault.

True... that's what i told my dad after i showed the bill. 5K for the transtech is better than changing or overhauling trannies.

We just got the car 2nd hand from an elderly lady that's why i immediately had the transtech and some servicing done... although it's only 60,000kms on the odo I was already planning to change the t-belt since the car is already 9 years old... that's why i asked about the timing belt replacement service. What baffled me was the SA gave a quick answer that it should be every 60K kms even without first checking things on the car (we were both standing a few feet from the car). Percy was the one who assisted me for the service but i cannot recall if it was him i was speaking to that time as there were several guys around.

    Hey guys,

came back from autotechnika FORT this morning. As I've said before here is my experience.

I came around 8:15 am and as usual asked the guard for a SA. The SA that came out was Percy. He immidiately took the car in the service bay and started to jack it up in 5 mins. (FYI, I scheduled this visit. So you might not get the same treatment if you went there and the service area is full) Then SA Joven came out and told the technician to use 24 liters. At this point I was kinda shocked that they would use 24 liters (more on this later). It took them 5 minutes to find the right connections where to place the TRANSTECH machine. They attched the unit to my car battery, started the engine, turned on the machine and placed my car into D and started the process of cleaning the ATF off my car.

At first glance you can really see the thick gunk (a.k.a. old ATF) come out of the car. It looked liked used motor oil. . But after about 6 liters the fluid started clearing up. And by the time it used 16 liters I think what clean ATF that was going in was going out as well, hence my system is clean. I noticed that new ATF is really liquidy in nature, not like that think stuff that initially came out so all in all I'm satisfied.

The whole process took only an hour and it seemed done correctly. Now I noticed that my car seems to change gears faster especially from 2nd to 3rd gear. I don't think I'm imagining it, I'll know for sure tomorrow, when I use my car again.

What I think about the experience of today:

    1. Transtech is a brand of the machine that flushes out old ATF and brings in new ATF to your trasmission. Some people in other pages think that this is a process of changing the ATF. So remeber guys Transtech is a brand, ATF flush is the process. Just like Xerox is a brand and photocopying is the process (just to clarrify things, kasi pati ako nahilo eh )

    2. You can't know how much ATF you'll need for ATF flushing, but based on my experience, I feel I kinda wasted 8 liters of ATF since they opened the whole case and I didn't stop them from doing so. At 200 a bottle I feel I wasted 1,600 php. Dont get me wrong, I don't regret it. So what should you do? well, my car is a 97' civic. Based on my estimates, you need six liters to flush old ATF, 4 liters for cleaning and 5 more liters for allowance and what's going to be left in the transmission. A total of 15 liters. I paid 5,700 for the atf flush on my car that used 24 liters.

I FEEL YOU CAN ALWAYS ADD MORE ATF TO THE TRANSTECH MACHINE IF YOU FEEL THE ATF COMING OUT IS STILL DIRTY, YOU BASICALLY OPEN A NEW BOTTLE AND ADD IT TO THE TRANSTECH MACHINE ATF RESERVIOR.

    3. torque, you should consider giving the FREE 21 point to all your clients who gets repairs. It only took them around 10 minutes to check my car and I they basically just did a visual check on it.

    4. don't get intimidated by the class design of autotechnika guys, the shop looks and feels great. It's really clean. only 1 bmw was there today, most of the shop had regular cars getting worked done. hehe..

Bakit kaya 24 agad? Ayoko na mag-speculate. Antayin niyo na lang si torque. Muntik pa naman akong pumunta with 9L of OEM ATF. Buti pala hindi ako tumuloy. Yari pala ko kung nagkataon.

WOW!!! we have the same brand of car so ibig sabihin more or less ganyan din magaggastos ko, DAMN! im planning to do the second draining of my atf next month.

Sir torque from my previous post dont get me wrong, i read all of their comments and your reply i just want to inform you that i also encounter the same problem and i'm very thankful that you reply immediately and your companys fast action. However for me, ecu is too expensive and im not familiar with electronics but i hope if some of your technical people dont know how to use them, then dont let them. I hope you understand my concern.

By the way, sir please reply to other queries above because many of us want to change our atf using your machine. sir please quote on my 1997 civic for atf replacement with USA88 dexronII compliant. thank you very much! please send your quotation to brain_310*yahoo.com. Sir please breakdown the labor and materials. Thank you very much!

Sirs, don't get our service advisors/manager and mechanics wrong. These guys know how to use the machine. Our company introduced this machine in the market a few years back, and the mechanics using the machine in the workshop were trained.

It all depends on a/t's history (capacity, mileage, years of use) on how much ATF is needed for your car. Sir MaDox, I've checked your record and I've talked to the Percy and Joven. From what I get it's your first time to get a ATF flush, and that your mileage reads 100,000++.

Usually if it's the first time to have the ATF completely flushed with that mileage, it takes 30L or more. Our mechanic actually wanted to continue adding ATF because there was still discrepancy on the color. The next time you get your AT flushed, you'll only need 10-15L (assuming that we follow the 30K rule).

However, I can see the problem, it looks like we're ripping people off their hard earned cash.

Hmmm... Tell you what, I'm having a waiver made downstairs. If you feel that the ATF is clear tell the mechanic to stop and you will be made to sign a waiver. I believe my mechanics are saying the right thing (hey, they've been using the machine for years). Also, I'm going to provide a test tube or something downstairs that we can use to compare the AT coming out and in.

I'm scouring the net to find an handheld electronic ATF tester (similar to the one we have for brake fluid) which can also be used to check if your ATF is clear.

i'm running out of ideas. You guys have any other suggestions?

As for the OBDII Scanner, yes sir, duly noted.

For everyone else: As i've stated above The ATF you're going to use depends on your car's capacity and history. P900 po ang labor. I'm sorry I can't give you a decent estimate. Ayoko muna magbigay ng specific, baka mag over tayo eh. let's play with the 5k of MaDox.

Sir, personally, i don't see it that way naman(ripping people off). Especially if i know all of the 24 liters will be used for my vehicle' A/T, and is really needed. Shocking lang siguro yong 24liters for others when there are posts which mentioned 10 liters for a Patrol, etc. Baka they think medyo overkill na. But then, your explanation on the mileage, ATF replacement interval is very helpful to appease our apprehensions. I myself am concerned since i'm planning on taking my Patrol there for its first full ATF replacement soon, lalo na at Dextron III recommended sa manual

Anyway, the test tube and the waiver is a good idea. And the "handheld electronic ATF tester" will be a cool touch. And i appreciate you doing all these to keep our minds at peace.

torque, mali naman tingin nila Joven ng odo ko eh. my milage is 60k kilometers. Maybe you saw the records of the Pajero that was next in line to me. He had 160k milage. Shux would that mean that if they saw a 60k milage they would use less ATF in the first place? my refund ba? pa change naman yun record ko! maya magkagulo!

oh well, nagawa na eh and I'm still satisfied. my car shifts smoother now

don't quote me on that guys.

I'm off to my next project of whether to get a paint job or upgrade my speaker system hehehe
