naalala ko yun classmate ko dati inatrasan sila sa traffic tapos nagdemand daw ng pera, tinakot sila kasi may kilala daw na mataas na opisyal ipatatawag. Natakot classmate ko ayun nagbigay ng pera. Sila na yun nangatras sila pa nagdemand ng pera, i think modus operandi din ito. watchuthink? Yun ang tinatawag na hi-way robberry!!!

The police would just investigate the accident for the consideration of the insurance company, who would eventually say if its insured was at fault or not.

This is assuming na maghahabol ka pa rin ng claim sa insurance, pagkatapos mong i-settle yung issue with the other party. To be honest, I don't imagine anyone doing that without careful consideration. Syempre, if you decide to settle the matter between yourselves, without involving either the insurance company or the police, you have to realize that there's a risk that your claim will no longer be honored for that particular damage. That's why the diplomatic approach takes considerable amounts of maturity and foresight.
