    Hey guys,

I recently bought this EK Hatchback.

I want to improve/add stuff on it's exterior, specifically the:

    -Front and rear bumpers
    -Muffler
    -Rims
    -Fog Lights

Any advise on what I should be getting to improve it's appearance? Where is a good place to look for hatchback parts?

    Banaue or Evangelista, siyempre.

For the front bumper, you could switch to the 99-00 SiR front bumper with foglights, and maybe get a black mesh grille (lots of those available).

Same with rims (SIR), but there are a lot of new Honda rims in the 15" range that look pretty good and should fit your car.

Muffler? Unless you want the fart can sound, look around and review threads regarding muffler, headers and car modification before you touch your exhaust system. And if the look is all you want, spending the extra money for a good muffler will save you a lot of headaches (from the droning sound of poor mufflers) in the long run.

    Thanks for the response!

How much do you think an SIR bumper goes for? What would look better, round or square foglights? Should I change the back to SIR as well?

I don't know if the rear bumper of the sedan will fit. Alternately, you could try to look for Type-R bumpers, but they're probably hard to find.

The stock foglights of the SiR are round in rectangular housings. Up to you if you want something different. I don't know the cost, though. Some Honda boys who come in here may be able to help you.

    Thanks for the response guys!

Astig pala yung Type R look, gusto ko talaga gawin ganyan! Parang pareho lng yung tail lights nung puti at nung akin.

Mas ok ba pag repaint ko to red? Or stay with dark blue?

Oo nga... if you have the budget, it's up to you.

But a more prudent approach would be to keep your stock color. The 20k or so you would need for a wash-over could be spent on other things, like mags, tires, lowering springs... and the like.

    By the way:

Type R is a model designation, much like VTi or LXi, but in this case, it pertains to a Civic hatchback with a 1.6 liter 185 hp engine and a stiffer suspension set-up than the regular Civic. It's a killer car.

SiR pertains to the sedan model sold here in the Philippines with the same engine in a slightly lower state of tune (160-170hp). It's pretty fast, but the suspension and chassis are relatively light-duty in comparison to the Type-R. It can be upgraded to Type-R suspension specs, though, and there are a lot of aftermarket parts for it.

Despite being tame compared to the Type R... compared to most of the cars we get here in the Philippines, it's still very very quick.

And, by the way, I still like the SiR front bumper better...

Ah, I see.. the SIR bumpers are the ones with the foglight slots in the sides right? So you can actually install it on a hatchback? Will there be incompatibility issues concerning that it's a hatcback and SIR is for a Sedan? Is it actually available in the market?

What are suspensions? Lowering springs are for lowering your car right? Hindi ba delikado sa sayad yan?

There should be absolutely no difference in front mounting points between the hatch and sedan.

Lowering springs and suspension modifications are a big step. I suggest you read up on it at the Honda forums. But at least there are a lot of available brands to choose from. The risk of sayad with most sports suspensions isn't as bad as you may think. But if you cut the springs or buy lowering springs that are too soft, it's a possibility.
