there are times it will stop the vehicle and times it won't. do not trust it too much. sa akin most of the time it applies the brakes in time (1 park a mere 2 inches from the wall). but there are times it did not, kaya may mark na yung rear bumper where it hit. buti na lang mabagal kaya maliit na mark lang. does not matter kung mabilis o mabagal, basta hindi siya consistent.

October 20th, 2017 12:00 AM #6374there are 3 stages as per manual, depending on the imminence of collision.
1. alert
2. brake support
3. active braking
i suggest to err on the side of caution with this system. this works only above 5 kph. and as with other driver aids, they were designed to work in case of demand but may fail to do so, depending on the factors that may affect the system, such as rain, fog, sunlight condition, shape of vehicle in front, etc.
the 3rd stage should theoretically stop the vehicle altogether. haven't experienced that though, only stage 1 and maybe up to stage 2. just do not overly rely on the system. safety is still the driver's responsibility ultimately.

October 20th, 2017 01:06 AM #6376hindi lang visual signs. 'bumubwelo' rin yung computer na bumagal na before or upon pressing the brake pedal para mapapahinto mo na agad yung car. pag nag alarm na yung HUD mapapansin mo na bumabagal ka na without hitting the brakes. but it doesn't mean na sya na ang bahala sa brake until a complete stop para sayo. it still needs the driver intervention.
minsan hindi sya babagal mag isa. if mag oovertake sa harap with a very minimal distance sa harap mo, mag aalarm yung HUD pero hindi ka babagal.
pero pag head-on to the car in-front and straight steering wheel with a certain speed near collision, dun na bumabagal mag isa yung car.
isa pang condition is pag meron sumingit bigla sa harap mo with minimal distance sa highway, babagal din sya mag isa.
may certain conditions / parameters yata yung eve para magdecide sya kung babagal ba sya mag isa or hindi.

October 20th, 2017 01:08 AM #6377the system lightly applies brakes so that minimal input is needed from the driver in case he decides to step on it. full braking happens then even with light braking coming from the driver. usually a thud is heard during pre-charging of the brakes.
sorry paps, active braking dapat yung 3rd stage, hindi brake assist. i already edited my earlier post.
