Not too hot nga, but others swear by it. Di ako mahilig sa donuts eh.

Good point, actually. I noticed na yung flavors ng branches here can be altered to suit Pinoy tastes. I mean yung Jollibee dito, for example, walang sinabi sa Jollibee dyan. Their chicken tastes bland just like regular chicken here. Pero dyan sobrang sarap!

I would like to see Dunkin Donuts go down... wala na talagang kwenta mga Donuts nila IMO... cheap ingredients tapos iwan mo lang sa room temperature tumitigas??? WTF!

I like Mister Donuts... Smidgets! may quality pa Mister Donut kesa sa Dunkin...

Tingnan nyo yung Gonuts... they added some specialty donuts at an outrageous price of 28 pesos! I mean they offerred their Lite Donuts before for only 20 pesos bakit ngayon 28 na??? Dahil may KK na???

Krispy Kreme I think shook the market... and it will continue to do so basta andun pa rin yung global quality standards ng main company... Ok din ang ginawa ng KK to start attracting the A & B class... dahil sila naman talaga ang may purchasing power e...

And you can make decent profits than going mass market and selling stupid 10peso products na sobrang low quality... Mas mabuti pa yung nabibili sa bakery na donuts na may asukal.... Mainit at masarap...

Question lang. If this came out in a publication would it be safe to say that this was a paid advert masking as an article? also, as I was not present at the time did Go Nuts resort to the same sort of marketing effort or was it a word of mouth thing? Did Go Nuts resort to promo driven type launches where they would give away a year's supply (I see that KK is doing its part to uplift the health of the filipino people...and personally if i won that much donuts i would soon hate it dahil masasawa ako after a while...and it would make for an interesting present to others for birthdays, anniversaries, etc...or is this the tactic...to spread KK out?)...or something that big? it seems like it is a Max's promo ploy perhaps? Arent they giving loads of cash this christmas to attract consumers? Just some questions as I am unaware how KK competitors entered the market.

oh and will a promo generate loyalty amongst consumers? at least the ones that matter? kasi if KK is hitting the AB+ market will you see them drawn into a promo where they have to stand in line for a long time to get a year's supply of donuts? question of logic here?

Yup i forgot those. Ok siya pag bagong deliver sa mini-stop. Underrated ang mga xmas versions nila. Personally liked the Yema one. pero as mentioned can only have so often kasi nakaka umay after a while.

U.S. people, according to some americans here the Donut is like a common breakfast food of the blue collared worker out there? pang on the go. and kaya associated sa mga pulis. Now baka mas sanay sila sa states sa taste. dito kasi iba ang breakfast fare as we know. sinangag type. ibang kasanayan just like the burger culture that some attempted to transplant here. BUt eventually they adjusted to localised menus...

Not really. They're just to balance the coffee because many people drink them black (no sugar or cream).

Blue-collared workers have the traditional heavy breakfast: fried/scrambled/omelet egg, bacon/sausage, pancakes/french toast, and toast with jelly/butter.

Pinoy breakfast is still my preference. Heavy duty stuff like fried rice (plenty of garlic) with eggs/longanisa (real ones with plenty of fat) or lighter, sweeter stuff like champurado with pandesal/cheese.

just got this info from the net. try mrbreakfast.com and wikipedia:

"The 1940's and 50's, saw the advent of doughnut chains such as Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and Dunkin' Doughnuts. As coffee became more of a staple in bakeries across the country, the perception of the doughnut as a breakfast item became more prevalent. There seemed to be no stopping the oily cake."

kasi if i am not mistaken policemen are blue collared (no pun intended) and isnt the backbone of middleclass america blue collared? like construction? factory people? etc? did you get your observation from extensive research in american class eating habits? am just curious as i too am not an expert in this and just base on information on the net and other sources. wouldnt the white collar equivalent be a danish? anyway, maybe we are getting into a semantics issue here but what is the definition of blue collared?

also, here KK positions itself as an AB+ product. that would be due to price of course. but would that be the demographic in the U.S. for KK? am guessing it is BC? just some questions.

Nope. It's not an interesting enough subject for me to devote time and research to. But, I do have memories from all the years spending time among GIs, among plumbers in Oklahoma (so yep, related to construction), renting a room in the house of a civil service worker and his family for several years, living in a blue-collared neighborhood in Boise, Idaho. There's always that classic heavy breakfast.

Doughnuts are more of a morning snack than a breakfast. Personally, I think there's more people into fast food breakfast combos than doughnuts. Where I work, fast food breakfast combos are daily while doughnuts are maybe once a week, if that. Make no mistake, my wife and kid loves Krispy Kreme. But, they're never a breakfast item.

Oh.... I consider myself a blue-collar worker. Also, check out my avatar. Al Bundy is the quintissential blue-collar worker..... My hero!
