    Sir Speedyfix,
Ano kaibahan ng 5w30 sa 10w30 for a 72k kms ride? pros and cons. alin mas matipid sa gas? at alin mas maganda sa makina?

5w-30 has the advantage of better protection during start-up because of its low viscosity under low temperature/morning start-up (mas madaling umakyat yung langis sa mga critical engine parts), better fuel mileage kasi mas maganda ang fluidity niya kapag malamig (mas magaan ikutin ng makina pero during short trips karaniwan siyang mas ramdam yung tipid sa fuel, halos lahat kasi ng oil pare pareho lang ng kapal kapag normal operating temperature assuming same viscosity kahit iba't ibang brand). 1 to 3 cSt (viscosity) is considered negligible when reading the oil's PDS. mas tinitignan kasi ang viscosity during cold start compared sa operating temperature.

assuming same viscosity yung gamit mo na oil wala talaga pagbabago in FC dapat. kahit na synthetic, mineral or semi syn yan.

I tend to agree with this.
I've read in Bitog synthetic oil is only needed in extremely cold temperature (below-30 degree F)

Motor Oil 101 - Bob is the Oil Guy - also from BITOG.

nope i'm not saying that. fact is, you don't have a lot of choices when it comes to viscosity of mineral oil locally. 15w50 or 15w40 lang halos available depending if you're gas or diesel. most new car will require 30 weight oil at the thickest and many more require a 5w20 or similar now (subaru, ford, etc halos 20 weight na for most gas engines). assuming you can get that weight in mineral oil, FC should remain constant but you'll have to replace oil more often because of OCI being shorter.

with synthetic you also get extended protection since it can remain stable much longer, not to mention better performance when put under extreme use like in racing or when mods are performed to the vehicle.

all in all, synthetic is still the way to go, but strictly speaking, if you use the same viscosity oil but one is FS and the other is mineral, then FC should not be affected.

Isuzu requires a 30 weight diesel oil which RP doesn't have locally.

you can try the 15w40 RP oil if you like. it's 600/quart. you need between 8-9.

RP oil filters are not available for that engine.
