It has an OBD-II ‘style’ DLC connector but it doesn’t seem to be using the standard OBD-II signaling protocol. None of my OBD-II scanners (ScanGaugeII and UltraGauge) can read anything.

So I got from eBay Toyota’s own PC software, Techstream. It comes with an OBD-II-to-USB dongle and it's not expensive (ok, it's not what you'll call a 'legit' copy either). Though, you will need a laptop and a bit of skill to use it and in case it wasn't obvious enough, this is a serious troubleshooting tool and it's not meant to be installed semi-permanently like a ScanGaugeII, et al.

I was able to clear a stored DTC and monitored a few other things during one of my commute some years back. That was it.
