I'm not so sure but you could try to find similar products made of the same material (i.e. foam, paper, etc) then use it as a point of comparison of for the filtering qualities.
I guess slightly different. Finer Filter is an oiled foam filter whereas K&N has an oiled cotton filament. Kakainis coz walang article ako makita.
The price is a-ok though. Drop -in sya. I got mine for Php2,800.00. Considering the orig air filter costs Php1,200+, the finer filter will pay for itself after 10,000kms :D
ungas..basta wag mno lang damihan masyado...maykonti akong oil na nakita sa tubo ko na papunta sa engine..malayo pa naman..pero they are sucked in talaga...
Ive been using finer filter on my 4d56T for almost a year, no encountered problems of anykind.
Just be sure to follow cleaning schedules religiously youll be fine.
It is recommended on the instructions that came with it to Clean every 15000 but i clean mine every 5000.
also dont forget to give it a visual inspection from time to time maybe every 2tk or so just to be sure that it wouldnt dry up (baka daw kasi magpulbos and mahigop ng engine)
in terms of performance own observation ko lang, i felt my engine became more responsive or psychological maybe? well parehong pareho lang ng k&n coz ive also used this before on the same vehicle.
mas maganda lang ang tunog ng k&n at the same time mas maganda ang price heheh
K&N di magpupulbos pag natuyo. Finer filter na foam may possibility pero matagal mga 1 year na tuyo. That happend to my friends car na di ginamit for a year.
as for oil getting sucked in, remember that the breather sa valve cover nakakabit sa intake. kahit paano the engine sucks in oil from the vavle cover. so ok lang yun
So, is it better to use the cotton type K&N than the foam type Finer Filter?
Di ba delikado yung oil ng filters? Di ba mas prone na kumapit ang alikabok sa oil, therefore you'd have dirtier intake hose than normal dry type filters.
ungas:: di naman delikado yung oil sa makina. the dirt wont get it coz thats what the filter is for diba :D
Nikko m | Ungas:: got mine from Rats Alabang. Medyo expensive yung drop-in sa pajero coz our filters are HUGE! :D Yung K&N na kay liit 4000+ na eh, what more for the Pajero-size filter. IMO, overpriced ang K&N dito sa Pinas. Mura lang sa Amerika yan e.
Sheep:: I totally agree with you dude! And rest assured, the performance increase is not Psychological. I feel it too (unless we're both Psychos hahaha :D ). ACtually, ive been using a free flow simota intake... that's until it twisted itself into a sundae cone.
I dont live there but im always in the Alabang area... work :D
The simota has a louder 'hagok' sound, but then again, it has its own intake tube and all.
My current Finer Filter is a drop in, medyo concealed din yung sound.
I'd advise against simota for our 4d56Ts. Mine literally twisted and the plastic parts broke! good thing the turbo didnt swallow any of it. A total waste of money.
Polybushings are great. I run full poly bushings. marami mga noise nawala. ride is harsher but handling is way better and the bushings are indestructible.
as for oil attracting more dirt, yun yung point ng oil. it helps filter out more dirt then dry air filters. thats also the reason you should clean your filters regularly.
