Hindi ko rin nabili yung Lexus oil bro. Napunta ko sa Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 instead.

What does your owners manual say about which oil to use? It will tell you what it needs.

My manual says I can use API Service SJ or above, ACEA A3 or above for drain or refill of engine oil.

For better fuel economy, it is recommended to use the engine oil of a viscosity grade SAE 0W-40, 5W-30, 5W-40 (API Service SL or above, ACEA A3 or above).
    I have some questions:

    1. That means I can use Shell Helix Ultra right?
    2. As I understand, 0W-40 would provide better fuel economy over 5W-40, did I understand this correctly?
    3. If the above is affirmation, any good oil recommendation for 0W-40?

API SJ is really old, i'm guessing your vehicle is at least 10yrs old? what is the vehicle?

The latest is API-SN. most oils ie API-SN, API-SM, API-SL will work great on your vehicle.

    1. yes, you can use shell helix ultra "for gasoline" engines be it 5w30 or 5w40/0w40.
    2. 0w40 oils does have an fc advantage over their 5w40 counterparts, this is less than 1% though. 0w40 oils have slightly lower viscosities than their 5w40 counterparts be it castrol/mobil1/shell. in bitog forums, we consider 0w40 as thick xw30s

if your vehicle calls for 5w30, use 5w30, it will have better fc than any 0w40/5w40.

    3. 0w40 list: Castrol edge FST, shell helix ultra, mobil1, zic x9

I think the manual is old material or just playing safe with wording. My vehicle is perhaps the cutest size here in tsikot - Hyudai Eon GLS.

Thanks for this sir. I think I'll switch to Shell Helix as it has positive reviews in this thread. Currently, I am using Mobil1.
