mga sir question lang.. read here or another post na 'some' filters in ACE hardware are not 100% authentic? ang price range kasi na nakikita ko for a typical Vic C111 (Megamall, SM Tiendesitas) is around 250-ish. any support kung totoo na hindi totoong VIC filters ung asa ace?

second question ko po eh, if I bring my own oil (planning to get Mobil Super 2000) and filter sa gas station, mga magkano ba ang labor only sa change oil?

Downside - Higher fuel consumption and slower engine response

It's not true that old engines require more viscous oil. Old engines WITH worn out seals and gaskets will leak oil. When engines start to leak, your options are to replace the seals and gaskets, or if you don't have the budget for the repairs, use a more viscous oil to prevent the oil from leaking.

Thick oil or sticky oil or less slippery oil doesnt prevent oil leak it just limit it to a more manageable compared to thin oil

The base oil itself wont, but the "high mileage" oil additives that are specially formulated to restore and rejuvenate hardened oil seals will.

Mineral oils, specially higher SAE grade mineral oils have lower capillary action and will have a harder time sipping thru gaps on worn out seals and gaskets.

Nabasa ko rin dito before na may counterfeit na VIC filters sa Ace. I think sa remote bypass filtration thread meron doon comparison ng original and fake. Labor charge nasa Php150 lang sa gas station.

i am a user of shell hx7 5w40 on our 2007 altis. although nakaka-isang change oil pa lang ako using this oil dahil kakabili lang namin nung altis last year. shell hx5 kasi yung gamit sa pajero namin. ok naman sya kaya shell na lang din ginamit ko dun sa altis.hehe

My experience with Toyota Otis is, they accomodate the oil and oil filter that you bring. They will NOT charge you corkage fees UNLIKE Subaru. You will need to sign a waiver form though.

Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?
