For gas engines, ok na siguro 30 seconds to 2 minutes kapag first start sa umaga. For diesels, warmups are more critical. Sa diesel ride ko, mga 10 minutes in the morning, but within the day, start and drive na.

for turbo engines, maganda longer warmups. the oil has much more to do and it can't do it while cold.

for cold mornings, i warm up my car for about 10 minutes before driving hard.

mga sirs, I agree with ssaloon. that's what I'm getting on almost all article I encountered on the net. the longer warm-ups are now tell tales and not true anymore on todays vehicle. it is still best to drive at once but smoothly to warm-up the car kahit na siguro paakyat. remember that idling for a longer period of time doesn't do good at all.

pdc2, just what sir theveed and others said... start and drive smoothly with a/c off.
