Tanong lang po, bakit po mas cheaper ang engine oil sa mga auto shop kesa sa mga gasoline station? Di po ba dapat mas mura sa gasoline station dahil product din naman nila ito. Tanong lang po.

yup i also noticed na mas mura nga sa mga auto shop and even sa true value ang oil. Hmmm i dont know the reason for this but im guessing its got something to do with the gasoline stations not being allowed to sell cheaper than shops to protect their retailers. kasi if its cheaper from them directly, shops wouldnt bother selling these.

Mas mura nga sa mga auto shops then sa gas stations. Hassle pa sa gas stations is that a good number require that you use the same oil products as their brand. This would probably entail that a lot of their customers would just buy from them when they have their oil changes to save the hassles of canvassing for a cheaper place to get the oil of the same brand in another shop.

Sabi sa akin noon ng Field Manager for Lubes ng CPInc., some autoshops order in bulk. They get discounts or trade deals kaya nakakapagbaba sila ng price. Chip also has a point. Kung mas mura sa gasoline stations, bakit pa magtitinda mga autoshops? Sino nga naman bibili ng mahal na lubricant? Dagdag sales na rin sa mga oil companies kung mas maraming mag-distribute ng products nila. IMO, bale autoshops ang nakakakuha ng protection ng oil companies.
Tungkol sa sinabi ni vinj, meron ngang mga gasoline stations na hindi tumatanggap ng customers (magpapa change oil) kung hindi bibili ng langis sa kanila. Sa amin, kahit may dalang ibang brand ng langis ang customer ay tinatanggap pa rin namin. Kung di ako nagkakamali mga Shell gas stations ang hindi tumatanggap ng customers kapag may dalang ibang brand ng langis. IMHO, kanya kanya lang diskarte yan.
