    Hi guys!

It's the time of the year again for changing oil.

I've got a 2004 Honda City iDSi under our maintenance and was wondering if anyone can recommend a cheap but good fully synthetic oil in the market?

I used to get Motul H-Tech for about P500 a liter but noticed it's been raised to about P650+ already, so I'm looking for a cheap alternative sana that's about P500 lang rin.

Also, 10w40 is good for the said car, correct?

    Thanks!

out of warranty na naman eh, just go for their change oil promo, for 1k, all in na...mineral oil lang nga pero same viscosity that you're presently using.

    Saw S&R price na, it's P640 there e.

I'd prefer fully synthetic na sana since I don't like changing the oil too often...

but Honda's recommendation regarding oil changes across the board is every 6 months...regardless of what kind of oil you use...at least based on their service manual..same length of engine warranty whether you use mineral, sem synt or full synt

Remember it's not all about synthetic vs semi-synthetic vs regular oil. It's also about the oils ratings for a new rebuilt engine I would not be running anything less than CH-4/SL or CI-4/SL in a gas engine if you want maximum protection. ZIC makes some good oils as well as Motul

I'm leaning toward ZIC for a good low cost oil.

ZIC A is a Group II and Group III blend.

ZIC A+ is a Group III synthetic

ZIC XQ is a Group III synthetic

you can also use BARDHAL fully synthetic oils..
just did an oil change on my vehicle... i used their SynPulsar-M 5w-40....
    fully synthetic oil with
    API SM/CF
    ACEA A3/B4-04
    ACEA C3-04
    BMW Long life – 04 (for 5W-30, 5W-40)
    Porsche (5W-30, 5W-40)
    VW 502.00/505.00 (5W-XX)
    VW 505.01 (5W-30, 5W-40)
    MB 229.51 (5W-XX)
    MB 229.51 Approved (5W-40)...
you can google it (Gasoline Engine Lubricants)..
Bought it at 55-C P.tuazon price is 390 per liter... been getting 6km/l on idle with aircon compared to my previous 5km/l with aircon at idle using TOP1 semi synthetic 10w-40..
(3.5 v6 engine kasi na pajero GDI)....

comaprable din ito sa performance nang Zic oils... the only difference i think is their country of origin.. zic is korea, bardhal is USA. Zic has VHVI while bardhal propriety technology is Polar Attraction....
