I'll do everything this weekend so answers will be posted by monday in several formats like .doc, .pdf, .txt or .html or simply posted everything here.

How did you know those were the ones that needed replacement? And how did you know that those part numbers are for your specific application? I am presuming you have the old mechanical style in line injection pump where other shops have the habit of changing only certain parts to have a lower quote but do not know that other parts are vital to each other also.
para bang man and wife........
san province ka?
its for a fuso 8dc81a engine, inline. OEM was zexel p49. replacement of Denso was 461-0. symptoms was, no idle, and if I adjust ang idle it would go wild. When we pulled out the plunger and barrel it was heavily worn out it had already streaks. had tried to have it adjusted first but ayaw talaga mag idle. did not change the delivery vavle as there was no stock here and it was ok pa naman. now one click na ang truck and idles well.
Neg. occ.
did you take out the injection pump while doing? who gave you the replacement of Denso as 461-0? so after replacing the plunger and barrel, did you calibrate the pump?Originally Posted by ARB
yep we removed the pump from the truck, had it ride the calibration machine and it cannot hold idling pressure to the nozzle at 200 rpm. from a auto supply here, yep after replacing calibrated it again.
also pwede pa discuss na rin which replacement parts to avoid and the cheaper but reliable alternative brands to buy

Looks like Doc has his hands full.
Gary, boybi : pa sticky naman tong topic.
Here's one: Differences between the preventive maintenance of Gasoline and Diesel Engines. There are some people who claim that Diesel engines are a lot more expensive to maintain (like it needs calibration), while others say Gasoline engines are more heavy on the pocket. So which is which?
NASAGOT NA BA ITO?

medyo nag worry ako sa post mo, ako kasi more than 115,000 km na di pa nagpapacalibrate. dinadaan ko na lang sa biodiesel pag medyo mausok na ride ko. oks naman basta naka regular load ko at least 1-2%, mga once or twice a month ko ginagawa per full tank.
My apologies for not getting back to you as promised....had my hands full the past week and I realized I couldn't gather all the answers in one sitting and I'm afraid won't be able to finish it too so I'll discuss it one by one here.....
I won't go into the nitty gritty details of how the diesel engine works since I would presume that everybody knows about that already but if you don't here's something worthwhile to read...

1st Topic..
1. Tell Tale signs
The most common signs that your fuel injection system needs calibration are the ff:
* Black / White / Blue and irritating smoke and that includes what others would describe as maanghang sa mata.
* Sluggish / no idling
* Slow power or none at all. Don’t expect launching power in a diesel.
* Unusual than normal driving power and or engine noise like metal tapping sound or misfiring.
* Required PMS or tune up which is separate from engine tune up. This is what a lot of people ignore or don’t know.
Other "unique" problems can be a basis for calibration of which a proper diagnosis is to be done first. Remember, not all problems are the same.
will answer this on one of my topics....Originally Posted by Dieseler

sana sticky na itong thread :D
Yung 4JA1 namin nasa almost 200k kms na,still no black smoke yet,na-calibrate lang sya 3 weeks ago coz of fuel leaks. Swerte lang din siguro kaya kami?![]()
Nasa driver at pagaalaga yan. Swerte ng ride mo kamo... TLC...Originally Posted by DieselDI

Doc Diesel,
My 2001 XTO a/t is starting to emit white smoke (more than ever). My mechanic says na palinis lang ng nozzle tip. If so, how much magpalinis nowadays and if ever, how much ang replacement? Or should I have the engine calibrated na rin? Thanks.![]()
