    Inaadjust ang injector/nozzle para umayon sa calibration specifications. Ito lang ang tamang adjustment; ito din ang pinaka-matipid na adjustment. Pwede i-adjust ang lumang nozzles kung okay pa ang kundisyon nito. Pinapalitan ang sirang nozzle.

    Hi Dieseldude,

    Thanks for the reply about query ko a few weeks ago. Anyways I plan to hold on to the vanette for maybe 5 years at least.

    Now I'm looking for a diesel engine.

    If you had a free hand to choose, which diesel engine would you pick (displacement would be between 2.0L to 2.7L)?

    You have had a lot of experience on diesel engines, and which would you choose. Hope you can give me your thoughts on these.

    (Of course, anyone who has an opinion to share is welcome to answer)

    Sorry Ice. I am not familiar with engine modifications. Your best bet is to ask the 2nd hand engine sources. They have more experience on this.....

    Sorry for the vague question.

    If you were to choose an engine based on ease of maintenance, reliability and prices of parts, and to a lesser extent fuel efficiency and smoke belching tendency - just to be on equal footing we are actually discarding the fact if the engine can be mounted or not.

    i am reposting my query in another thread, seeking your expert opinion:

    when do you say that the black emissions from a diesel engine are abnormal and need checking? from different threads, they say black smoke emissions are "normal" either in brand new (not yet broken in) or very old poorly maintained engines, in the morning (cold engine) and when accelerating hard.

    2012 monterosport gls-v (odo 2800km) emits black smoke when stepping on the pedal hard (approx more than 2000 rpm). smokeless during idle and low rpms. it has been checked in the casa already (nothing wrong with computer diagnostics). previous replies i got:
    "normal in the morning for diesels",
    "normal in diesels as long as not in idle and no soot around muffler",
    "normal not yet broken in" ,
    "dirty fuel by big three" (been using shell regular super-save diesel and synthetic engine oil),
    "need to add fuel treatments"(given fuel treatment at 1k pms, did not add when i filled my tank)

    not used to diesels. previous rides are gas engines. hope you can enlighten. thanks a lot
